I am developing a game where I plan to make a custom VIP server system where you can change how the game works (Like change the map, the balance of the game, the stats of in-game items, the interactions between in-game aspects, models of in-game items) and I am wondering if it would be possible to have a system where players can “monetize” their VIP server by being able to sell products that cost Robux (like shirts) to gain benefits in their VIP server. Said custom VIP server system would be accessible by all players through a server browser unless the custom VIP server is set to private.
Is it allowed to have players sell their own products (Roblox site products like shirts, not in-game products) for Robux? Would my game have any issues with moderation if players were scamming with the products they sold for in their custom VIP server?
If this system is not allowed, would it be allowed to allow players to sell their own products in-game for in-game rewards if the staff of the game were to manually check to see if it works and set systems in place to prevent it from causing scams and other things that could break the rules?
The first method is not allowed as that’s why we have Roblox premium for only certain users to have the perk to sell items on Roblox and it’s not accessible to everyone as well the second solution sounds reasonable you can have people sell items in the game but not with Robux but with your own currency for in-game rewards.
You can have players sell items in the game but not using Robux as this may also get your game to be shut down and you would also need a really strict and active staff members. Hopefully this can be a feature added in the future.
If they are selling their own products, they would need to have Premium. So yes, it would be allowed. All you are doing is giving them the option to sell their items in your game, they still need to have premium (obviously), so it wouldn’t be violating the roles. You can’t sell things without premium.
That is no problem as long the products are created by the seller himself*, but the creator needs Roblox Premium to put their items on sale for real Robux.
* I am not sure in other situations (like selling stuff created by someone else and maybe claiming that it is the work from the seller)
Some games, mostly homestore games might allow the player to advertise or have some sort of mannequin to sell their clothing. And like @ScrxedDev said, someone could abuse this to sell bypassed items. For example, the Roblox Target Store game allows you to purchase a mannequin and sell your own clothing.
