Could we bring back the lounge?

I was told that #lounge as a category was removed, and before that It was for Regulars only.

Could we bring this back for all members? (Not viewers)

I would really like to ask some off topic questions to developers.

It would allow developers to chat with each other in a better way. Promoting the concept of making friends which are the basis of roblox.

I’ve got an idea that’s not a fix but a patch. If somebody make a group called “Forum Lounge”, once forum releases on groups, forumers could just use that group.

That is incorrect, it’s still there, just not active.

I’d love to see it become active and thrive again (there are a lot of fun threads which haven’t seen replies in a very long time) but it’d probably just be a hellscape if all members weee to be given access, That was the point of the Refular trust level but that seems to be going away eventually. No idea what’s happening to the category but hopefully something is done to either preserve or revive it.

Only regulars can use this? How would newer members become regulars?

Hey @Userunmanned! How are you? Happy Wednesday!

Whoever told you about the deleted category shared a wrong perspective or misinformation… The category #lounge is still around in the Roblox Developer Forum, but it would not be active if we were to make a comparison from the categories such as #help-and-feedback.

From what I have been reading in posts like this, it is unlikely that they would make it available for forum users with different trust levels (“Member”, to be more specific). The alternatives would be using third-party social platforms such as Discord, Guilded, etc., that you are aware of.

is there anyway members could get promoted so they can use this?

Technically you can still get promoted (I got promoted last year) but it’s quite a process and I think they’ve phased out the way that I got promoted anyway.

You aren’t missing out by not having Regular.

+1 for this. Maybe we’d finally get rid of the endless spam in #development-discussion by giving people somewhere that it ACTUALLY belongs.

does discord not do what guilded tries to do but 10x better?

It does but discord isn’t owned by roblox.

I am jealous now. I still wonder why I don’t have regular. I deserve it so much on god.

Guilded is trying to copy discord, discord isn’t copying guilded

No ,we couldn’t bring back #lounge to ask off topic questions ,here moderation is strict!

Guilded had a few features that Discord had a few months after

You cannot have access to lounge anymore, even if you get promoted to Regular. The access to it is unhooked from the Regular trust level.

What if, regulars can post there, but members can reply and everyone can view, or regulars post and everyone views. Which one?

That honestly sucks, it seems like it would be much better way to find devs to collaborate with than the Talent hub…

The forum already has a place for that, it’s called #collaboration

Lounge shouldn’t be used to find developers anyways, it should be used for a conversation
