I’m excited to ask one question:

Is it better for Roblox on PC to stay on DirectX 11, or is it worth switching on Vulkan? (check this post I made about that tho)

You know who’s in your team and what you all capable of, so I am sure you can answer my question.

I do also wonder what are people going to ask them…

Will there be any moderation overhauls coming to the platform? I think safety should be a main priority, by the way, good work you have been putting out!

Are plugins ever going to get more capabilities? Currently, I’m looking for a way to completely mimic the Roblox Studio Output window, but there’s no way to get the trace of prints and warnings.

Some other “capabilities” for plugins could include:

  • Clipboard usage
  • Instance picker mouse mode
  • Built-in color picker access
  • Full toolbar and toolbar button control
  • Built-in shared toolbars
  • Invoke a place save/publish request

Were any of these discussed? These would be very helpful for plugin developers, for various reasons.

Has there been any progress on the availability of Roblox on Linux? What kind of work, if any, is being done to bring Roblox (and especially Roblox Studio) to any number of distributions? Thanks a ton!

Can we get further support via APIs and hardware configurations, on peripherals used in other industries such as SpaceMouse, Haply Inverse, and knobs on keyboards?

Are there any plans to streamline the terrain touch-up workflow using Blender or any other 3D software? Grabbing the voxel terrain from Roblox to make intricate details and small adjustments in Blender would make a difference.

Are there any plans to introduce Virtual Texturing for blending voxel terrain with meshes/models? UE and Unity have had this feature in some form or shape for almost a decade now, I believe Roblox should have this feature.

Is hydrodynamics confirmed to be released this year? Last year, Hydrodynamics was mentioned to be released in 2024. However, no news about the update has come out yet.

Regarding this statement

Does this mean that, like audios, decals will follow the same path as the audio privacy changes from March 2022? Or will it be handled differently? For example, the update made audios private, preventing existing experiences from using them unless the asset was specifically whitelisted for a group or if the person had developer permissions within the group. I’m pretty sure this will affect public models created by users who likely don’t have the decals included within the model on sale.

Are there any plans for more post processing effects? I think the current ones are great and all, but they could be better. The main one I would like to see is cell shading.

Will there be a rendering overhaul in the future that would allow us to create custom shaders and more in-depth materials/textures for our games?

I feel something similar to Unreal Engine’s Material Graph would be incredibly useful for creating visually unique games & unique materials/textures.

Are there any plans for more advanced building tools? Building tools similar to blender. Or mainly features like: beveling, curving parts, having multi-colored parts, or turning parts into meshes.

Regarding Legacy Chat sunset:
Will there be anything done to the poor TextChatService performance caused by React-Lua and aswell as other issues? The clock is ticking, and this still wasn’t solved up to this day.

Will there be any plans in the future to allow us to create custom object types or classes that can be added through the Add Panel in Studio and created using Instance.new("") or a similar method?
