are you guys still working on accessory adjuetments for other types of accessories like neck or waist ones? i really would like to use that
The biggest issue stems from the fact that Roblox unlike other engines tends to prefer having equal visual fidelity on all platforms. If this wasn’t the case desktop/console platforms likely already would have far more impressive visuals.
It all just boils down to:
- they don’t want to make mobile and desktop/console too graphically different
- they don’t want to ship features that would only work on higher end platforms
- they can’t ship features that might become detrimental to gameplay and then not work on lower end platforms.
- features should work with minimal dev effort (automatic), which isn’t a bad idea on its own but it should always be considered to allow overriding the automatic behaviour put in place, as not all devs can work with the automatic behaviour enforced by roblox.
I don’t think that’s the reason here. They already had plans to update clouds, they just got delayed. It could be because it turned out difficult for mobile, but we don’t know that. All we can do is hope they’re being worked on if we want them.
Can you provide any information about the tun-ability of this new feature? Will it just be a simple on/off switch or will it have the ability to fine-tune it for the various ways developers like to have their players move around in their games? This new feature interest me a lot because the current reach of my own anti-cheat service is a large block of all active Roblox games due to it being used in many of the top games, so I would like to get a head start on the flood of messages I expect from other developers that will be sending my way when it goes live.
Can’t wait for the script forking update! In my opinion, thats the biggest item on the road map right now. It might seem like a small update to some, but I believe that will fundamentally change development.
No more weird workarounds!
Love to see the updates for streaming and blocking streaming for certain instances coming next year.
the solution here is to make your own volumetric clouds lol (which is what im doing)
The problem with this is like, you are much more constrained in doing this on a studio level, not saying it’s inherently bad, but if they did it on the source code level it would probably run a lot more faster.
But good luck! I’ve seen plenty of devs make some awesome self made features!
Acoustic simulation seems like a fairly exciting thing to look forward to, will help allow developers to monitor and control audio better to avoid loud noise gates or sounds that are too quiet
I hope performance is continued to be a main factor in deciding roadmaps in the future!
I’m glad if Text to speech and Speech to text was added to make a Working Alexa ,G Assistant and Siri
I love to see Roblox always making this community a better place keep up the good work!
Can we please get an update on when UpDirection will be enabled for the Character Controller? It really limits the potential of character controllers and forces devs to find workarounds that renders most of its functionality useless.
We got meshparts!!1 We got meshparts!!!
We just need a better rendering engine now…
lights can’t even go past 60 studs yet so something tells me we’re going to be in for a long wait before any major improvements there
We already got meshparts some years ago
when you add in animation?
- Root Motion
- Bone Size
Editablemeshes bug…
