Why do you need plugin-ins to make good games? Most “necessary” stuff is free or open-source like the Blender animation importer/exporter.
i can bed they did it because 3th party websites where selling iligal robux with plugins, sad they ruin it for everyone with this
but even worse people from eu including me dont have american payment options
and visa and mastercard is not for everyone since for us we have to pay more for those options i barely use so i dont have it
and they sell robux for paypal but they dont include the paypal option to buy plugins now like i cant buy any plugins with this current system unless they add paypal @roblox did u forget to add those payment options

I could not agree more i think its a complete EA move to force us to pay in USD they can atleast add a option to buy it with Robux.
Yeah let’s go ahead and go with that, without considering that the plugin sales are going to go down DRAMATICALLY because of this change. This is complete malarkey and everyone with a functioning brain (not a Roblox rep) can see this update does nothing but hurt small creators. This overzealous pushing for the site to become “David B’s Corporate Hell Investor Flytrap” provides NO BENEFIT to people who actually want to make experiences on their own accord, and aren’t hired ghouls forced to push out a “game” that serves as a desperate attempt at advertising for a shoe/clothes/razor()? brand to children.
This is unbelievable how Roblox just continues to drop the ball over and over again. So now not only as a developer are my earnings taxed by on overall 80% by the time my devex is processed to my account from my games(initial 30% tax multiplied by the 65% devex transfer fee), now as an insult to injury I can’t even use my PRE ARBITRARILLY TAXXED EARNINGS to buy the TOOLS to work on my games. I need to send it ALL through the 80% fee, then BACK into my account through stripe? And you guys wonder why your market share is underwater.
Go ahead and desperately grab as much money as you can before you go under instead of solving systematic problems that have existed for 10+ years!
i’m so disappointed right now. i missed this announcement and now i can’t install plugins that once costed robux. why make it ONLY real-world currency? thanks for making development harder for small creators than it should be
Pissed off. NGL would be happier if they reduced minimum cost to like 0.99. It doesn’t affect the higher quality plugins but the ones that are MEANT to be cheap HAVE to be 5 bucks
Still not in Türkiye. It’s been 1 month, my country is still not supported, how will I buy the plugin? @crayzdesi4 Do you have a solution? As Turkish developers, we cannot buy plugins.
Yeah, and the functionality they offer is often significantly more complex or feature-filled than what most similarly priced Roblox plugins will provide. Not to mention paid Blender plugins come with source code as a rule, which makes them infinitely more customizable than plugins here.
I haven’t read the full discussion, but would it theoretically be possible to make a plugin purchasable with robux by using a gamepass that is required for the plugin to work?

Definitely, just be aware that free plugins can be required and be getten broken into. Better thing to do is use loadstring
No disagreement there. I expect this will begin to improve now that plugin developers get a higher percent of each transaction so working on a plugin is more worth the time spent.
There are multiple easy methods to access the source code of Roblox plugins.

This is only a half step in the right direction. This will not ensure that more people buy plugins. Simply because the target group under 18 is much less willing to pay for plugins with real money. I really don’t understand why Rolox is still sticking to this plan when the people who are in favor of this change are obviously in the minority.
I think it’s embarrassing for a platform of this size to ignore the community so much. I mean, if you look at the replies to the post, you can see in every third one the demand that there should be a choice between plugins for Robux or USD. In the rest of the posts, you see almost exclusively rejection of the whole thing.
In addition, the following problems have still not been resolved:
- Pricing is disproportionate
- Users under 13 still have no way of purchasing plugins
- The attractiveness of creating plugins has not really increased → because it does not seem to be worth it

I think by this action you are just destroying the macro economy of roblox, roblox is an entire ecosystem that works because of robux, you are just trying to devalue robux by your actions. I’m sure that many developers spent their robux on plugins to improve the work on their projects. If you want to add the purchase through the dollar, then return the same old option through robux. Thanks to this update, the plugin store is closed for me a long timeand and although I could have made it easier on myself.
Just like others are saying about this. Don’t forget that not everyone has a visa or mastercard, and especially not everyone lives in the US, lol. At least others don’t have a card, I don’t even have region support. I also can’t get a visa or mastercard in any way. I see that many developers did not like this update, I hope that roblox will hear the criticism and return everything as it was, or at least return the ability to buy through robux.
I get the reasoning behind this change, so people have an easier way of monetizing there products, but I don’t see why you can’t also have the option to pay in robux as well as paying with currency? I’d rather not pay 10 bucks for a plugin when I could just pay 800 robux which is equal to about the same price. Come on Roblox, do better.
