Creator Store: Buy and Sell Plug-Ins with Real-World Currency

I don’t like this update. Most users are likely much younger than 18 years old unlike what roblox believes. This update, I like to call it is the mommy’s card update. The idea of this update is more unstable than myself.

“Piracy is a service problem” - Gabe Newell.

Well I only see a service problem here. Either I don’t buy or I pirate, I’m choosing the first one.

This might be reasonable but some in some countries we cant buy paid plugins and it worsen our developing period. Please do something for us.

SO ? Has your boss decided to put the prices in robux or maybe he is smart and is thinking of putting the price in robux and in real money, according to the desire of the creators who feed him.

I think I’m not the only one, we have the possibility of paying tens of thousands of robux for plugins, but yet I wouldn’t even put $1 as long as it doesn’t change, I hope I’m not alone.

He wants money but he does the opposite, unless his objective is to get creators used to everything being paid in real money? Advertising, now Plugins, why not ask creators to pay for the publication of a game? like on Steam, $10 or $100 minimum per game publication?

bruh i hate this. i can no longer get any plugins. (theoretically, i can, but i am heavily against spending real money on digital things. all robux i make is from games i make). Instead of roblox adding both options, you are forced to spend real life money on it. this is just ridiculous. roblox made this everything but accessible… they do not realize that in other countries, something easy like 20 bucks for an American is actually 100 Lei for us , Romanians and other less rich countries… im glad i bought all the robux plugins i use regularly before this update came… Im sure they will realize how horrible this is, that the update will eventually be reversed. other countries cannot even buy the plugins at all!

The WORST update ever.
They don’t comprehend developers’ stances at all.

$30 for a plugin?
Well, I will just create my own.

I meant there can be a “Pay with another option” instead of redirecting you to Stripe it will redirect you to this page:

The image above is a example.

Still waiting for this update to be reverted. We have not forgotten. I can no longer sell my plugins because I am under the age of 18. I previously sold my plugin for 100 robux and it took off but now I am only allowed to sell for free because of my age. If that is not discriminatory I don’t know what is. I hope Roblox doesn’t forget, it is kids and aspiring game developers who made their platform what it is now. Not big companies who they are tending to. I find it blatantly disrespectful that they can force me to forfeit any future profits from my plugins after I have contributed so much to their platform. They can ignore us all they want but it will just prove their inability to listen to their audience and their disgraceful treatment of their younger devs.

Or when the “Pay another way” option comes out, you can stock up on gift cards.

I don’t need to buy plug-ins I’m trying to sell my own like I have done for the past year. I can’t do that because I would need an adult to make a stripe account and no adult in my family is willing to.

this is one of the worst updates after the privacy sound update. users below the age of 18 like myself will no longer have much ways of purchasing quality plugins. this just gives more reason for plugin piracy.

L update 0/10

As you can clearly see, the majority of devs do not support this shitty change. Please let us sell items for robux as well. This has reduced my earnings by 91.67% (60k to 5k in my currency). So effectively killed it. Might as well look for another platform and delete the plug-in.

90% is actually crazy this change is top tier dogwater

It’s still in USD. Guess Roblox still hate us Brits. If we could get this in more currencies and also lower the age to 16 (or just don’t have a min age) and bring robux back then it MIGHT be ok.
As I said before it is still possible to make a user pay robux for a plugin albeit it can be confusing for the end-user.
Overall yes I still agree 0/10 update

And who would possibly pay this

I earned robux for selling my plugin that I worked so hard on, and with those robux I bought more plugins and other things… I have never spent a single dollar on roblox, now they are forcing me to do it.

Its funny how devalued robux is now with the catalog price floor and the constant implementation of stuff like this. The newbie FAANG manager hires are so out of touch with the roblox community.

Four month’s later and they still haven’t put light into supporting purchasing plugin products in different countries, I don’t care what others think. I don’t think gatekeeping plugin products to real world currency on a Robux oriented economy is gonna help at all. Robux has already been upheld to support various countries and can be paid off with said currency in an economy that solely makes you purchase products with the values of Robux.

Please make Robux Purchase an Option
Most community made Plugins are going over this loophole by making the plugin free and need to purchase a license product through a Roblox Game pass. Really shows me that I think 90% of users don’t enjoy this change. Because nothing good came out of it. And there is lack there-of support.

Getting closer to 4 months of this garbage update and we’re still here hating on it >:3
PLEASE add (back) a robux option. This practically ruins the ability for younger devs and devs in non-US countries to buy plugins.

This update in a nutshell is the perfect example of a Monkey’s Paw.

Plugin developers wish for better monetization for plugins, and so they got it! They deserve to be compensated for creating plugins that help developers both old and new after all.

Then the consequence being that the choice for paying for plugins with robux is out of the equation, now it’s even more difficult for new developers to get the plugins they need.

Now, I will say that I like this update. That’s because developers of plugins have the potential to earn real life money, and I believe that these developers who create tools for the community should have the option to sell for real money and that’s something I can get behind.

At the same time, it’s implementation sucks. It’s implemented in the way that heavily punishes those who rely solely on paying robux for plugins. Seeing that it’s been four months and there hasn’t been a change that addresses this issue, I’m afraid ROBLOX might be firm on their stance.

But, in the event where someone who made this change reads this comment, accessibility should be a number one priority, please reconsider and retrace your steps a little, yeah?
