Custom Matchmaking | Regional Option for LOW PING

This is an addition to the upcoming feature announced at RDC:

As a Roblox developer, it will be challenging to ensure low ping with the upcoming matchmaking update, especially when matching players from different regions, such as Europe vs. America or America vs. Asia. What if there was an option to enable Regional Matchmaking with adjustable thresholds?

For example, you could prioritize matching players within their region only. If no players are available or if it takes too long (e.g., 30 seconds), the system could expand the search to nearby regions. For example, if you’re in Germany, it could expand to other countries in Europe. If it still doesn’t find players after another threshold (e.g., 20 seconds), it could expand further, eventually to worldwide matchmaking.

This would ensure a better player experience in games where low ping is crucial, like ours, where the game experience heavily relies on minimal latency for an optimal experience.

Note: This would be a checkable option, and developers would be able to manually set those thresholds.
