Custom (Mesh) Rig keeps sliding off of the baseplate

Hey, so I’ve been trying to make this mesh rig for a few hours and I made it work. however, the rig just starts sliding and doesn’t stop picking up speed til it falls off the side of the map. How can I fix this?

  • I also think there may be something up with the controls (pressing W would send me backwards, D would send my forwards, etc.) but I can’t really test it while I am sliding. Anyone know whats going on?

(I was watching a YouTube video in the background and it picked up the audio lol just mute it

hey i also haev this issue, did you fin d a way to fix it?

Nope, I’ve kind of set it to the side for the past few days in hopes someone will have a response to it.

Hey dude! I’m not sure if you are still looking for the solution to the whole ‘sliding’ thing but I found something that worked!

I stopped trying for a about 2 weeks on this and earlier today I was searching on the DevForum, found something called “HipHeight” and that managed to do the trick.

Anyways, In the “Humanoid” Option in your rig, you’ll want to go to the bottom and change the “HipHeight” to a number where you aren’t floating off the ground, but also aren’t too low. However even using ‘5’ worked fine for me (This fixed the sliding issue). Also, for the character moving in on an inverted axis of what I wanted (the W key would send me to the right if im holding D), I just had to rotate the HumanoidRootPart around until it was in place. Hope I helped! I answered my own question 2 weeks later lol.

oh! i also found a fix to mine lol this was different tho and i will refer to this if i have that issue again

Oh thats great! How did you fix yours if you don’t mind me asking?

i followed a very old tutorial, I had a motor6d issue. Apparently it was supposed to be parented to the humanoidrootpart instead of the body itself.
