Hi, this is my first post here, so I’m not sure if this has been brought up a lot but I have a custom model I made (one that isnt a robloxian) that I want to animate in Blender and import the animation into Studio.
I have tried using the Blender plugin, although this ran into issues where the rig I had set up in Blender would appear like this
(you can see how all the bones are connected to the root part and not in any sort of hierarchy with their own parent and child bones)
I knew this wasn’t an issue with the plugin because when I view the model in RigEdit the result is the same,
I found this weird specfically because if I viewed the model in the built-in Animation Editor,
my rig would be here, completely functional and intact, allowing me to animate it here?
I simply wish to be able to animate in Blender, and then import the animation into Studio, is there a way to do this and would it still function on other models as long as the rig is the exact same?
So you issue is that the bones in blender are acting funny? can you animate them?
You said it wasnt a problem with the plugin but from how I am understanding it, it seem like you used a blender plugin, it did something funky to your rig, you imported it into studio, the rig is still funky but it is perfectly fine in the roblox animator.
I think you should make a very simple animation and try importing it with the rig into studio. see what happens
The rig I made in Blender was initially fine,
I was then able to import my model into Studio using the “Import 3D” option, which was fine
then I figured if I wanted to give the model custom animations in blender and import them into studio, I had to use this plugin
essentially i have to import my model from Studio back into Blender and rebuild the rig, but it gave me the issue I posted in the first image above, but I knew this wasn’t an issue with the plugin because RigEdit (second image above) makes my rig look the same
so in short, no this model is still the same, the plugin didnt modify it at all, it just exports it into an .obj for Blender
Although, doing what you said, I made a test animation in Blender, I was able to bake the animation into a new model, imported that into studio and was able to play the animation in the Animation Editor by pressing “import fbx” under import
Wouldthat mean id have to export a new .fbx file and then put it into Studio each time i wanted to import a new animation?
