"Default" button on Profile Picture editor resets full body shot thumbnail incorrectly

Hey, are there any updates in regards to this?

Hello! So sorry for the radio silence on this, but it has been something we’re working to address.

The root cause turned out to be deeper (maybe even weirder?) than one might expect, so a workaround and full fix have taken time to get sorted out.

We’ll update this thread when we have a fix in place and on its way to all of you.

Isn’t all the camera settings just set in a table somewhere? Pretty sure that’s how people were messing with it before the update came out. Unless there’s more going on in the background once the settings are applied?

Good to hear they’re working on fixing this, getting tired of seeing this image when I check my profile.

Thank you very much for your response, is there an estimated date in which we could expect this update to roll out out as it feels as though we’ve been given empty promises of it being worked on with almost little to no updates unless we ourselves persistently comment on this post/topic.

Having to ask for an estimation on when they could add a button that clears a data table somewhere is telling

Not everything is black and white. Im content with their follow up messages and I guarantee they are actively working on it behind the scenes

Much agreed, we should be grateful they’re even acknowledging the problem to begin with. Especially after over a year of nothing and even a few bad apples trying to hide our complaints via unnecessary moderation actions.

some update that I found while trying on hats from catalog
now it shows your ruined body pfp! before it was showing the default one, so maybe thats a bit of progress (?)

Noticed this update a couple days back too, also used the RoPro sandbox feature to try on some items since the bodyshot using the RoPro sandbox feature rendered the correct bodyshot however, I noticed a couple days back it was displaying my actual bodyshot and not the correct bodyshot anymore. Also opened the images in new tabs and compared the links and this is what I got:

Rendered avatar using the Roblox Avatar page:

Rendered avatar using the RoPro Sandbox feature:

Notice how the first link using Roblox’s avatar page reads “30DAY-Avatar”. Not sure if I’m looking into it too much but hopefully a breakthrough of sorts.

I noticed this a few days ago as well. It used to display the classic default camera angles while trying on items from the marketplace, even if you didn’t have the default camera angles any longer. This appears to be a parity change which shows that they’re indeed working on patching up the weird issues with avatar thumbnails behind the scenes.
