I’m curious—does anyone know why Roblox still doesn’t allow us to delete assets from our accounts?
Back when I was younger (and even more recently while learning), I uploaded a lot of models, decals, and other assets that are now broken or useless. It clutters my inventory and makes things harder to manage, especially when I know I’ll never use most of it again.
I understand the argument might be about account security—like preventing someone who’s hacked from wiping everything. But let’s be real: social engineering can’t be entirely stopped, and not having any way to delete assets just feels like overkill. A confirmation or multi-step verification system would be a reasonable compromise.
It’s surprising Roblox hasn’t implemented this yet. Is there a technical reason for it, or is it just a low priority?
Deleting from inventory is not the same as deleting an asset entirely. The former removes ownership while the latter actually removes the asset from ROBLOX, which is not currently possible (there is archival, which is a similar feature, but its use is limited iirc).
I suspect the reasons for disallowing this are related to the issues it would cause with backwards compatibility and experiences in general. If assets are deleted, how should we handle their usage in experiences if they were free models? What if someone else reuploads the asset?
A simple answer is “it doesn’t matter, the asset is still deleted so it’s all good” but that hand-waves a lot of the intricacies of this issue. I doubt ROBLOX is technologically limited here
The reason we can’t delete assets on Roblox has more to do with internal structure and tracking than just account security.

Cost vs. risk balance
Truth is, this has been requested many times before. A simple solution would be something like an “archive asset” option or a soft delete system with 30-day recovery, just like Google Drive.
I genuinely believe this option will be available in the near future, especially considering the recent changes made to asset permissions: Expanded Sharing for Assets
Free models would be challenging since if others are using it, it could cause null objects, etc.
A concept - although vague - would be to delete it from the creators profile, then those using it can own it still; just no longer available to be acquired (granted this could bring serialization issues).
Yes I understand clutter is very annoying I like things to be clean… Who doesn’t am I right?!
I believe it’s mainly:
1: In case your account was breached the hacker can not delete your asset.
2: Moderation Purposes incase your Asset violated Roblox’s Terms of Use (T.oU) as said above:
I would also like to add on that Roblox adding like a verification feature to remove such asset, would be a good idea and it’s definitely something that could be requested and reviewed and maybe you’ll get your voice heard by requesting such feature!
