just 200k robux honestly would be reasonable. roblox would still be profiting a filthy amount with that.
Yeah. Maybe not even robux, maybe visits as I stated in my reply.
I’m glad to see that Roblox does care about their developers making games for the platform. In my opinion, this is a step in the right direction. Good job Roblox.
A step yes, but in a bit of the wrong direction.
yes encouraging developers to monetize their game in every way possible to earn 40m robux is a good idea
edit:(this is sarcastic btw)
I can see why you would say it’s going a bit in the wrong direction.
to be honest 140k usd that is like for some people over 3 years of work 40 million robux for a what 50 dollar bag.
I think it’s more reasonable to have a visits requirement and not a money made requirement. After all, roblox youtubers (I believe) get into the star program by having gained 100k subscribers, not earned 140k usd.
Yes I know, and this is somewhat depressing. But let’s face it, if a developer makes 40 million robux total, that would turn into 140,000 USD. With that much money, you could buy all of the socks in the world! So I do agree that the requirements a bit high, but this is definitely a step in the right direction! Great job Roblox!
Yeah, you’re right, we should really be rewarding the devs who’ve managed to wring the most money out of people’s parents’ credit cards, instead of basing it on the actual enjoyability of the games!
Well yeah, a bit in the right direction IMO, but roblox youtubers get into the star program by having an impact and a following, not being rich (to my knowledge).
I most definitely agree with that statement. Because it would be a lot easier for developers to get these prizes if it was based off of visits. But there are some flaws with that thought. One of them would be people botting their game and then getting these prizes with no effort put into their game.
I think maybe it should be based on game submission and then people at roblox check out your game and - if it’s small - they help to promote it if it’s a really well-made game.
True, but money made isn’t the way to go. Also, I believe people can bot subscribers as well.
@Dogcraft_01 these prizes are to reward developers and tell them hey, your game is great, continue doing well! nobody is going to spend money to bot their game to get these
I think we both know that’d take far more manpower than is ever feasible. There’s a reason Youtube uses an AI for 90% of their moderation.
True. But as many have said, money made isn’t the way to go. Game quality probably is.
The criteria for these awards doesn’t say “Hey, your game is good”, it says “Hey, you’re good at selling things to children!”
Well that is a good point. But with being a star program member, there are more requirements than just having 100k subs.
Well, you’re not wrong about that statement.
