For those of you worried that you won’t hit the goal, I understand that. I too think 40 million is a bit high for a reward pack like this. However, as rates increase, it becomes exponentially rarer that you see a dev with that amount of robux. I’m sure there are thousands of developers that have exceeded 100k (minimum devex rate) so lowering it to anything below several million would mean Roblox hands out hundreds if not thousands of these packs, which is a lot of money. I would rather see it where a developer can take some money out of their devex to get rewards because then Roblox is rewarding you with your real money for a good game while also allowing you to get goodies with it. That would mean that devs with less can choose to spend some of the own money (by deducting from the devex) to get goodies like this (say you have a semi decent game and really want a roblox studio hoodie to show off you dev skills, then you can take 25-30 bucks out of your devex or something like that to get it).
Question,
Do we have to pay for those Developer Awards and Do we have pay for Shipping?
Intuitively it seems an initially high bar, any chance of getting some stats such as how many people are initially eligible to gauge the scale of it?
My game has been in the top 1500 by play time for 3 months this year and I’d be miles off ever getting there
More of a consistently Top 100 thing than Top 1000/1500 I guess?
I don’t believe so, I won a roblox contest back in 2016 and never paid for shipping so I would assume it’s the same here.
That’s awesome.Developers can finally get awarded like YouTubers or Twitch streamer do. I got a couple of questions, Firstly, will award bar be decreased? I think 140,000$ worth of Robux are too much for things like socks, hoodies and some branded items and it should be lowered. Furthermore, Should I get 40mil Robux every year to receive these awards? Finally, If the game is connected to the group and all the game revenue goes straight into group funds, will “Lifetime Robux” depend on the amount of Robux your group made or we need to gain the Robux on our account?
This is a great step forward, Roblox!
Us developers always felt, Well, Left out because YouTubers got WAYYY more attention like starcodes, and other things.
Now Developers can feel as If they’re getting way more attention. Now we have Swag Bags.
Developer Awards At least, I thought, Had something to do with the “Bloxy Awards”.
Next step should maybe be Developer Awards: Step 5 Maybe?
Well, Roblox Studio Toothbrushes.
Edit: Maybe you should make the robux in a lifetime 20 million. It’s hard to earn That Much…

I had a game ranked around 300 for a few months, and I’d still only be about 10% of the way there.
Honestly you’d be better off just selling this stuff on Amazon
The stuff there currently does not compare to the dope Swag that employees, creators, and now devs get.
I think Roblox was misspelled in that picture.
If we are calculating this via our devex transactions page, the stats exist all the way back to 2013. Is this the wrong way to calculate our lifetime Robux?
What specific lifetime Robux stats only exist since 2018? I am not aware of any such stat.
Many questions need to be answered about this with relation to group games vs individual developers within those groups.
The 40M Milestone is a little too high. My game has been in the top 500-600 and it made only 2M Robux in an year so I assume only a few hundred if not less are eligible to receive this pack.
Anyways, It’s great news, finally developers get more attention and appreciation from DevRel.
I’m not sure if this is really generating the goodwill that Roblox wanted this to, given:
- Reward bar is pretty high
- This sort of feels like a response to criticism instead of a proactive move
I think from a certain business perspective this makes sense, but I also think this community response is pretty much predictable too.
Anyway, it’s good to see Roblox is atleast aware of these issues and responding.
Seem like strech to me,
this seem kinda fair i guess, but why are we getting free merch for something that we have accomplished in are game. (This would have been a little cooler if we have are own custom Items). sorry but getting free merch doesn’t sound like award to me. I know this is phase 1. But at least it better come with some comfy socks Most Importantly (Free Shipping?)
The 40 million Robux bar is high enough that it makes this look less like an award for upcoming developers and more like an incentive for people to work with little intention of delivering on whats promised.
140k USD is a lot of money for some clothings and such (it is more than a small house!)
why don’t sell them as official merchandise instead?
This is why I believe developers doing a devex should have the option to pull some of their funds to get a goodie bag like this instead. So then roblox isn’t spending a fortune giving tons of small devs goodies for free, but allows small devs to still get stuff for their work.
Roblox merch for devs! Yay! Oh wait…
Out of about 1 Million devs, less than 250 of us can have this. That’s 0.025% PERCENT!
I love seeing new chances for devs to connect with the brand and get cool stuff like this but surely we can lower this bar. With 140k USD, I’m sure we can buy every unique Roblox merch product anyways. Not too great of an incentive with this merch, sadly.
Woah looks nice! as @ChipioIndustries said I’m curious as to how it works with groups, yeah mind explaining anybody I’m a bit confused but I can’t wait!
Because this is “Phase 1” I have high hopes for the future. But a suggestion I have is to make tiered awards that are proportional to the requirements. If people have to make enough money to buy a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath house just to receive a backpack, it’s gonna leave a sour taste in their mouths.
I would say start low, maybe at 100K robux people could get a keychain or something, but for this “swag bag” it seems more suited to be in the 1-5M robux range, not 40M.
But why don’t sell this all as official merchandise? (not all the goodie bag with all the clothes, just the clothes per separated), so everyone can get one of this things!
