Developer Hub || wolfman8071's UIU

If you are reading this, then it is likely that you have expressed interest in performing development work for wolfman8071’s Unusual Incidents Unit. If so, then this post should provide some useful information to incoming developers. Regardless of whether you are working on commission or if you wish to join our team permanently, we still welcome you to our team!

For those unfamiliar with the Unusual Incidents Unit, we are a small Group of Interest in the SCPF universe. Furthermore, we work with the SCPF groups on Roblox in addition to developing our own assets. We operate in a futuristic, semi-realist sci-fi style- however, not all assets developed conform to this style.

Our specific group operates similar to an SCPF group with our own, unique twist. Namely, the UIU is more laid-back and prefers a more playful environment versus our Foundation counterparts.

Let’s move onto the more development-focused aspect of this hub. While most SCPF GOIs operate on other group’s games and utilize other facilities, this UIU focuses on developing it’s own games for our members to operate on. Therefore, developers of all kinds are assigned to different projects in different facilities based on their skill set.

To avoid confusion, clutter, and chaos we have decided to keep our development team rather small. Our development is usually spread evenly among our team as to not cause any burnout or stress on any particular member(s). You may find our team, with positions, below.

Now, onto the more business-oriented aspect of this hub- how do we pay for our development? The answer is a little complicated but it should not be that hard to follow.

We offer payment via Robux or through USD/real-world currency, although USD is the preferred method. Down-payment options for developers with a portfolio are available, meaning after a price is agreed upon for an asset/project, you will receive 50% of the price before completion and the remaining balance after completion of the project.

Lead developers are also able to work for percentages over time, however, we do not recommend this as it is very high risk vs reward.

As a reference point for the amount of currency we have already put into our projects (as of 10/18/2020), $60 have already been input into our current version of Upsilon-18 (our main game) and a few thousand Robux (about 1,700) have been paid for smaller projects thus far.

Our budget for our planned projects is around $70-$120, with about 2,000 Robux for smaller projects. I understand the Robux is not that high but this is mostly due to my desire to avoid Roblox’s market tax.

So, you’ve read the above. You want to join. Great! We’re happy to have you. We are accepting contracted and long-term developers (as long as there are open slots in our team as shown above).

  • Contracted Developers:
    Contracted/commissioned developers should message me via Discord for available commissions or, conversely, should check our commission page for available projects.

  • Long-term Developers
    Those who wish to join our development team should message me via Discord with a portfolio link of some kind. Your work will be evaluated and based on your skill set, you will be placed into a team. Upon the successful completion of a project, your rank will be upgraded and you can tackle more challenging work for more payment.

Long term developers have the following benefits:

  • A free rank plus potential to earn higher ranks in an up-and-coming group.
  • The ability to work as you please and with other developers in a low-stress environment.
  • Credit in-game and in the group communication servers.
