yeah i got a few furnitures i want to add in the next next update:
walkspeed …thing?(im working on the name): make the player move faster when in a range
attracter attract a specific junk defined, like a magnet
repeller repel a specific junk defined

idk about rarity, I don’t want the player flooding the map for a single piece of rare junk, i am planning to add more junk though, like:
explosive barrel:
barrel but when a bomb/barrel explode near it it explodes too
magnet: attract metal… things? blue crate, barrel, tire, etc

OMG. ITZ THE KID VERZIONZ OF PB&J :0 THIS GIVES ME AN IDEA. After every work day you experience a cutscene of their life as kids. Why they wanted to grow up to work at your shop. Once completing the lore. You get a badge.

ITS DEVLOG WEDNESDAY
happy (late) new year (RIP santa hat :pensive:)
anyways, lets get started:
this week i added three main things:
1st: VIP customers:


customers who give double the money and a whole star, they also take away a star if patience meter runs out, so be careful!
2nd: Totems
there are now three totems in the game, speed totem, (gives speed) Junk attracter (pulls a specific type of junk) Junk repeller (same thing but repels)
all can be used in contraptions and stuff


3rd: Gears
there are only one gear in the game currently, Junk Finder, you can pick a type of junk for it to find, and you will see it, even if it’s under other junk!

these gears costs points. points are rescieved when you reach diamond tier in a quest

Honorable mentions: there is now a tutorial, easier for new players to understand
less honorable mentions: I remade all the badges to have a cool border

Devlog wednesday :bangbang:
this week is mainly on bugs and tweaks
I tweaked the attract and repel totems, before, their power level seems to be the same, changed that
also tweaked VIP star giving, now gives 0.5 and takes away 0.5, 1 star was too OP
new quest: VIP, VIP customers now give 1.5x money, but could be increased by the quest up to 2x

added conveyors and ramp conveyors
i made a terrible sorter in the video but you get the idea of what you could do with it

you should add like a sandbox mode, where there is infinite money and no time so you can just like experiment with the stuff.

hello everyone
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the discontinuation of the game. :pensive:
first of all, why? (dw its not you guys that caused it)
there are many reasons, but there are two main ones include

lack of motivation
yep, yall all heard of this one, I have a bad habit of not finishing games I started, sometimes leaving it bug ridden and unplayable, however, I personally think the game is at a good place for it to end (13 is probably a bad number to end on lol). Why do I not finish them? Well, I am growing more and more tired of the game, a bug is patched, and 20 more come out, and I simply do not have the motivation to fix it, so it becomes more and more of a chore I suppose.

Goals
We must talk about the goal of developing the game. The game was never for profit nor any personal gains, just for me to learn. I thought of it as a challange of remaking and improving the original game (Little Shop Of Junk). And I think I did a good job at that, I added all original aspects of the game and improved on them, and I am very proud of all the things I achieved and the hardships I overcame. However, I think it is simply time to move on, since I am basically chasing an endless goal.

Q&A

what does this mean for the game?
As previousily mentioned, the game is discontinued. This does not mean I will never touch it again for the rest of my life, but just for future me to maybe pick up along the way.

will you be working on a new game?
yes, in the near future. I have already found a game I would like to try remake, so stay tuned for a new devlog from me.

did any of us cause it?
duh, yall make me quit! (joke)
jokes aside, no. Every one of you reading has been incredibly supportive, kind and amazing to talk to, I am glad I have people that care about what I do.

Lol I was just about to post here giving you some ideas because you seemed out of steam. Totally get it. I do it all the time too. Everyone does. I got plenty of good unique game ideas but am too busy to make them. Goodbye Junk Shop Simulator it was fun playing!
