Do you think this Space MMORPG could succeed? | Feedback on Game Idea

With the new decade coming in, my team, Astromech Arts have decided to make a new game. It will take quite some time to make, but we are thinking of making a Space RPG.

Once a player spawns, they will be on the home planet of Kotis. Once the player has spawned, they spawn in the first Space Colony. Colonly Alpha. Their will be a landing platform with a spaceshuttle so you can travel to planets.

On the first planet, Kotis, you can fight monsters to gain XP, choose a space faction, talk, explore, do quests and shoot things with space guns and pulse rifles.

Enemies will be auto-respawn, (after about 5 seconds they will respawn).

Adding on to the first area, once the spaceship content is released, a player will go through a sliding door, down to a hall way, making their way to a docking bay. A player can go up, touching an invisible part which then will teleport them to a game called “Ship Hub”, which will hold all the teleportations to planets.

Each and every planet will have unique quests.

ALSO! There will be missions, sub missions, and quests. Yes, quests vary from missions and sub missions.

Upon the release of the game, the game wont include features such as…

  • Quests
  • Spaceshuttle to explore different planets
  • Different planets
  • Sub missions
  • Missions

The game will be in a demo stage until I get some feedback from players if they like the game. If the game succeeds a bit, then the game will go into a Alpha / Beta stage for :robux: 25 or more.

Remember, the game hasn’t been that well planned out yet, so, things said on this post could vary from actual released content.

In my opinion it sounds like an awesome idea and original/unique idea.

Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

An MMORPG that isn’t midevil themed would be a gladly welcomed variety, I’d drop 25 robux or more to get in.

I feel like this would be an amazing idea, but is it going to be like a campaign based RPG as well?

So can you do missions and stuff to go to other levels and so on…,
If i am understanding this correctly this has amazing potential to succeed as a game, but you just got to work on it and personally as a developer of a game a big part of it is listening to your community and what they want to be implemented into the game.

It’s going to implement some Vesteria things, such as y’know factions, levels, but no campaign. Not really at least.

Quite personally, I as well think the game will succeed if developed correctly.

But It’s going to be a free-roam MMORPG basically.

Judging from how you specified what planet and which space colony they’d be in, this sounds like something that would be planned to turn into a lot of content, so that is very interesting. I’m wondering if guns would be the only type of weaponry or if there’s going to be multiple other weapons (as many players love variety). I would also wonder how a space faction affects gameplay. Would different factions be able to control and occupy certain territories? Would it affect the player’s story progression (if there is one to be planned), etc.?

Well,

Guns are currently the only kind of weaponry planned, since the game Isn’t that well-planned out yet. But, y’know, plasma rifles, pulse rifles, space guns, probably some weird space knife that glows.

Different factions are just mainly like teams in which let’s say you were in so and so faction, and a player was in another. They could fight each other. If a player is on the same faction as another player, they wouldn’t be able to battle.

And no, there is no story campaign/progression. Yet, sub missions and quests are planned for future updates once we get the game out.

It’s sounds great, will you be trying to make the game really realistic or will you use plastic textures? I am definitely looking forward playing this game. Let’s see how it turns out :smiley:

Terrain will be made with terrain editor, for every planet. So theoretically, it will be pretty realistic.

Truthfully I stopped, no motivation, Covid, other thing. Now knowing somebody is coming across this post and still interesting in a 3 year old game idea. Hey, I mean…. Game coming soon?
