How about what grid settings the user has, and if they are bypassing it?

Was this feature removed? It stopped showing up for me as of today and I’d love to get it back.

No, are you sure you didn’t disable the QoL beta entirely? Could you also check what you have the Studio setting set to?

Yup, something’s broken.

The same is true for me. I am very troubled.

same, it just randomly disappeared overnight without me doing anything. and a real shame because i use that feature to shift blocks by precise amounts!

Uhh, yeah, looks like something broke. Not sure what happened there, I’ll investigate.

The move measurement will be back, sorry about that!

Happening to me too, pretty broken.

Update: We unfortunately don’t have an immediate fix, but the move measurement will be back in next week’s release.

please make it so that there’s an option to not snap positions to the little dots while holding shift i wanna keep this beta feature enabled because i’m too lazy to hold control

You can change it in Studio Settings > Selection > Soft Snapping Percent

That’s coming next week! There’s going to separate checkboxes for grid snap and snap to parts so you can easily switch to either or both depending on what you’re doing:

I second this
I came back to this just to see if it was an update but it’s just a bug

Selecting parts with scale tool seems to reduce my fps, is it normal?

The move measurement has returned!

We found an issue with the Snap to Parts setting so that change will have to wait for next week.

This is going to be interesting, I am loving this beta feature already

I think this is a cool and useful feature and I understand the sentiment to keep the consistency between the keys, but rather than a forced update to change shift from scale uniformly to disable snapping, is there a way that we can have an option to swap keybinds on our own?

My issue isn’t if there is consistency between the key in studio, it’s amongst all of my programs that I use that shift is to scale uniformly, and it seems kind of out of place to have to change it for a new feature that I may or may not use as often as scaling uniformly.

Speak of the devil! Snap to Parts is now live.

TL;DR: We found the exact same thing, that the new shortcut arrangement just did not feel good, due to expectations from other programs among other things. We still want to maintain the shortcut consistency between tools, but we’ve now standardized on Alt = disable snapping instead so that the Scale tool shortcuts can remain the same as they were before the beta.

Full list of changes:

  • Snap to Parts toggle introduced in Ribbon Bar

  • Snap to Parts and Snap to Grid can be independently toggled. If both are enabled at once Snap to Parts takes priority.

  • Restored the shortcuts for the Scale tool to what they were pre-beta.

  • “Disable Snapping” is now bound to Alt instead of Shift for all of the tools.

If no further issues are brought up we’re going to start rolling this out to 100% of Studio users by default soon.

I really dislike this new system, it was really messed up my workflow and I don’t even think I can get used to the new system, because it feels so weak like it doesn’t even work half the time. Is there any way to revert back to the old system at all?
