Because it’s a studio beta? It says so in the title.
Wow, this will be useful in a horror game!
Thank you so much.
Creating_Facial_Animation page in GitHub has deprecated code, does that mean this was made quite a while ago?
I think this feature is potentially really cool however there are a lot of polishing needs to get done in the beta period. In my opinion, blending with normal Roblox characters is really important for a such feature. Players like Roblox because it’s Roblox really, more features will make everything more possible if it doesn’t harm some things as well.
Something like this shouldn’t be called “bad” on social platforms, we just need to give our feedback on it and try to make them see what they don’t see. Some people are extremely against Roblox innovations and they are the ones who compare Roblox features with other game engines features all time! Roblox is getting more features, isn’t that what we want?
Overall, I think that if it gets implemented correctly, it has a great potential.
It just appears creepy to some people as a smile. That’s the only bad bit. Really we should just get a different face to test.
It is in fact, creepy. However we have something that we can’t forget:
It’s a beta. We just need to give feedback before evaluating it as good or bad.
- Both are already perfect
- Only the left one is perfect
- Only the left one needs improvement
- Only the right one is perfect
- Only the right one needs improvement
- Both need improvement

Please reply how they could be improved if that’s what you voted.
Well, you’re doing the thing I objected. It definitely needs improvement, calling something “bad” is not constructive, I left my feedback here:
Whoops, sorry. I’ll go fix that.
Is Roblox alright? Did the ones that thought of this stayed inside for so long that they lost their mind?
I think quite a few people are missing the point here! This is a GREAT change, and whilst it may look “off” and “ugly,” this will be incredible for games that really want you to immerse yourself in your character. Take this for example: You’re in a farming game, planting seeds, watering the soil, raking dort and all of a sudden your character is out of breath! Would you like them sot there stone faces, or would you like to show some sort of discomfort in their face, to really sell it. Perhaps theyre sleepy? Give em a sleepy face! The possibilities are endless, and this is a great feature for a multitude of reasons, Shout out to you, roblox!
Why are facial controls locked behind PluginSecurity? It’d be quite nice to be able to lip-sync with normal sounds and not just voice.
I love this update and I think it would be awesome. However, I really hope it’s an optional thing for avatars as I really like having a 2D face on my avatar.
I really, really do not like this at all. I’ve liked some of the recent Roblox updates such as Rthro but this just feels like a step in the wrong direction and it feels uncanny. One of the main appeals of Roblox is it’s blocky simplistic aesthetic and it seems like they’re trying to get as far away from that as possible which doesn’t sit right with me at all.
Is it possible to be able to disable/enable this in certain games when this gets released?
I don’t see why you’re complaining
it’s up to you to use it nobody is forcing you.
this looks really creepy not gonna lie…
You know what tech is getting facial recognition? VR, such as DecaGear.
There’s also software that mimics facial expression and movement from voice input.
I’m very excited to see where this goes.
This is an open forum discussion. They are allowed to complain.
Boi what the hell boi,
Pretty cool tho
Ooookay and who told you you have to use those examples specifically? Who told you that you wouldn’t be able to make your own? And that you’re gonna be forced to use Roblox’s models only?
