This is one of the worst updates ever. So many developers are gonna have their games and income ruined because of this, Horrible.
You do realise that all UGC creators automatically get ownership over their IP, and this policy says that if a UGC creator grants permission for a game to use their IP, then itâs fair game. If a UGC creator wasnât ok with you using their IP in your game then they wouldnât give you permission.
that was a nice as hell comment!
[+] new forced update
list of forced updates:
- changing most of the avatars to r15 without concern (old unused roblox accounts show that)
- changing the face of everyone to that ugly animated one (old unused accounts show that too!!!)
- make people migrate to r15 for them to use layered clothing, animated faces and emotes when all of these clearly could work on r6 too (in the beta test of layered clothing there actually was a way to apply them to r6, and it worked well)
- force enabling filtering enable in all games instead of just the new ones (broke alot of old games)
- most of the new bundles doesnât work in r6
- remove accountâs description
- delete accounts that said âgayâ or âfurryâ (???)
- remove builders club and replace it with premium
- remove tix
- remove most of the things that matters to the home page (the home page is now just a experience tab 2.0, with the favorites tab sometimes even being in the bottom of the page)
- remove roblox from 32-bit pcâs
- sound privacy
- and finally, this one. this update is now added to the list too.
THANKS I LOVE PLAYING ROBLOX WITH THESE UPDATES SO MUCH, THANK YOU ROBLOX
I know man, Roblox is making FIRE decisions this year!
And dont forget -
- made most of the classic faces offsale!
- patched a fan-favourite glitch, the Corner Clip!
Yeah the corner clip was a glitch, but a favourite one for the community.
Would I get moderated for using my own IP, branded Items on my other accounts and games? Because I got accounts on different emails and etc.
You probably wouldnât. Itâs your IP after all.
No they wont how can u guarantee that
Hereâs your proof theyâre postponing it because of how bad the update is.
Theyâre obviously postponing it. I can read. Heâs guaranteeing that it will be unaltered
Oh. My bad
Roblox didnt say if they were gonna alter it though, so we are most likely going to assume they arenât because well, this is Roblox weâre talking about.
They clearly said they are going to change the policy.
Unless you are claiming ownership that you donât actually have, this doesnât really mandate much enforcement on the UGC creatorâs side. UGC accessories are worn by a lot of players and plenty of NPCs. Giving a sniper rifle to a group partially consisting of copycats is a disaster waiting to happen if someone is devious and reporting happens to work.
Overall it depends on how Roblox will handle this, and itâs probably not going to be good.
Roblox could probably add a property to the workspace which defines what iteration of physics you would prefer, and maybe some separate properties which let you unpatch certain physics, such as Corner Clipping. If they did that, Iâd be very happy, because I never really got to use it past a handful of games.
I stopped reading this thread a couple days ago but this actually extends to decals? or are you referring to t-shirts?
Are you denying that UGC creators have ownership over their accessories? Look at this screenshot of the Roblox Terms Of Use.
If you use their IP without permission you can get DMCAd.
Also, just because a fraction of people are âcopycatsâ doesnât mean that UGC creators shouldnât have rights over their IP. Why do you want to fight fire with fire?
I donât really know if thatâs possible, since Roblox constantly updates their physics engine. It may be possible to get an older version of the Roblox game engine via an emulator, but Iâm not totally sure if itâs possible to make an emulator of Roblox.
TShirts.
CharacterLimit
Nobody wants this update, and even those who partially support it donât want it to be this aggressive.
By âconsider all your use cases and feedback,â you probably actually mean âwe will read a few comments, then pass it off as just some angry people and go forward with this update anyway.â and admitting you are pausing it rather than canceling it is also proof you donât really give a darn about how the people here feel about this.
What if, no matter the number of changes and updates to this policy, nobody wants this trash? If the entire policy is âyou cannot use off-sale marketplace stuff and UGC without permission, blah blah,â I can assure you nobody wants this garbage enforced.
If you are going to delete some guy for retexturing a pumpkin hat back in 2012 and also purge tons of games using assets from varying times that are now off-sale, then go ahead and watch your community further get sick of these corporate decisions.
Thank you my friend! I had fun writing it.
I LOVE ROBE LOCKS SO MUCH BEST PLATFORM VERY GOOD
