Experiences using Marketplace Items - Policy update

How does this destroy games? If a UGC creator grants you access to use their accessories you do not need to prompt anything.

Have I got a great idea for you:

The Marketplace should be available to everyone.

According to many people, they say this is true. I’m with you on the idea that this shouldn’t be a thing. Many games use the various coils Roblox offers, suddenly allowing them to not be used would be very bad.

In this very post, ROBLOX says this:

Yes, ROBLOX-created items fall under this policy.

this would limit many roleplay games, catalog item games that make it easier to use than the ROBLOX Marketplace.

  • I have NEVER heard by anyone in the past 3 YEARS that they are wanting to take down a game because of them having a Marketplace item inside of it.

That’s too bad lol, if you don’t have permission you can’t use it, that goes for everything else. These rules aren’t new anyways so why are you freaking out about it now. If Roblox were to revert this rule now it could have disastrous consequences on UGC.

Because this will result in nearly every game on ROBLOX being deleted. That’s what we’re getting at.

If you fail to see any wrong with this policy change then you just may not understand the implications, and that’s ok. This isn’t just about copyright or IP or whatever, this is putting peoples sources of income and, by extenstion, their lives at risk.

“That’s too bad” - :nerd:

if you would have been in the same position as these creators, you would be upset too, this could mean that they would be earning less money because their game is pretty much ruined.

What do you guys think?

I kinda like it, maybe something more in-context, like referring to the devs?

These rules haven’t gotten every game deleted and they won’t do after this policy is public.

The policy states that UGC creators can give permission for people to use their IP, that is literally copyright.

Do you think stealing is good because it helps the stealer’s livelihood while taking money from someone else?

I wouldn’t be in this position because I don’t break the law by using people’s IP without permission.

ROBLOX Please don’t go through with this update since this will ruin the ROBLOX Economy, and please stop releasing bad updates like these, they are only loosing you money and upsetting the community!

That’s because these rules didn’t exist before.

Yes they literally will. If you would READ THE ORIGINAL POST you would know that…

The main issue people are taking is not with this but rather the fact that ROBLOX-made items are also affected.

If this is what you’re saying then with all due respect, you have no idea what you’re talking about. If you can’t recognise where ROBLOX has gone wrong here then maybe you shouldn’t be talking about it.

This image underlines the concequences of using a UGC item you’re not allowed to use in experience.

Reminder: ROBLOX-made items also fall under this rule whether they’re offsale or not.
