This policy doesn’t suddenly allow creators to DMCA stuff, they’re able to do this right now if they want to. Hazem is currently sending DMCA reports for multiple variations of his Pls Donate game, and I recall one creator being vocal on Twitter because their grimace shake UGC accessory was DMCA’d by someone with another accessory with the same idea.
This is the crux of the issue. With the amount of funds they earn from every sale on this website from those without premium, plus their newest feature being subscriptions, you really think they need more money?
On top of that, the policy wouldn’t be attempting to prohibit ROBLOX IP from being in games, since they’d earn income from that as well. So what’s the argument now, do they want cash flowing in or do they not want cash flowing in?
Also, why is it that suddenly the marketplace is now going to be a copyright infestation when it seems like it hasn’t been an issue prior. I haven’t seen any UGC creators complaining about their items being used for fashion games in the past.
Me and Meta are working on a project right now and it’s future is very uncertain because of this update. So far the only consolation we have is the chance that it wont be as terrible.
and the face isn’t a dynamic head. Roblox forces all players to add npcs/charactermodels to have crappy dynamic heads or ur game gets deleted so it doesn’t comply with the policy
no thats not what i mean you have to replace them with dynamic heads or your game gets deleted and your account gets a warning or ban or whatever sorry if i was a bit unclear I’m a bit bad at wording some stuff lol
ALL of the old 2d faces are going offsale and the way they wrote it, that might be a moot point anyways. It’s so vague and (as everyone’s been saying) crappy that we don’t know exactly what is punishable here, we just have to take a guess and pray it’s not as bad as we think it is.
This is the worst update imaginable! I never thought anything could be worse than this! Roblox is pretty much deleting itself at this point. Roblox has to think about these updates and actually have people who know what Roblox is that are behind this. Another big thing is that Roblox needs to be more in touch with their community so, we the players can get what we want that can benefit everyone. Roblox really screwed up.
I think this will definitely impact all Roblox games. Roblox should scrap the policy permanently, because it will result in many people getting moderated, including me!
