I really hope this gets cancelled, the amount of unmaintained games that could get banned is insane.

While not specifically on the topic, thereās an incredible amount of egregious copyright violating items on the marketplace. Iāve noticed itās mostly anime based stuff, but youāll find tons of content that is obviously ripped from other IPs.
Usually there is a level of subtly with it (like, for example, a Freddy Fazbear hat called āFred hatā) but the UGC has gotten to a level where thereās tons of accessories that are just the design of the base character with their names unaltered (just look up the name of any popular anime character).
This is a whole other problem that Roblox should be tackling instead of what they proposed before.

This is a sad attempt by Roblox to be something itās not. Roblox is a game platform, and these unfortunate attempts to deviate from what it excels at will lead to its downfall.
The top executives have truly lost touch with what Roblox is , a gaming platform, not a dating site, not a Zoom call, but a game engine/platform.
just accept what roblox is and move on and try to get more in touch with your community.

This is genuinely the worst update Iāve seen in a while. This could destroy my games and many others on this platform. Iāve always loved using Roblox. Sadly. Today marks the day, that I start my journey away from it. I just canāt handle or stand for these insane poorly made choices every few months/weeks. Iāve been considering Unity (Godot or Unreal now, since you know. Unity :I) for a very long time. But I always felt that I didnāt want to give up all my expertise in Roblox or have to make all the movement and multiplayer stuff myself. This has pushed me past that. It has pushed me so far over the edge that I am willing to make my own multiplayer code. Not an easy task. From this moment on I will be attempting to use Godot for my projects. (Canāt use Unity either now :I). I will attempt to finish my in-progress projects. But I will be shifting focus to Godot or Unreal. I donāt think even a full reversal of this will change my mind. Itās just been too many times, where I log on to find some earth-shattering development announced. I am very sad to have to do this. But I just CAN NOT deal with the constant threat of these terrible choices.

Iāve always been careful to only use Roblox accessories in my game for skins. I feel like just using someoneās UGC is disrespectful. But I guess I just have to make a default Dummy with no face at this point. I donāt understand why Roblox just randomly decided to make this change.

as i said before, we do not want roblox to ārefineā the policy, rather we want it to be removed entirely and have roblox reconsider heavily.
this ābattleā isnāt won until roblox completely reverts the change, but myself and many others suspect they will simply just go through with the change anyway in about a months time, albeit with a slightly longer deadline.
the fact that they wished to make such a large change and enforce it on such short notice without even any sort of tools to help developers ( akin to the audio discovery plugin ) is still baffling to me, even now.

When several replies on an update get over 1,000+ likes disagreeing with an update, it should be more than obvious that itās a horrible decision.
Why should devs be forced to stuff microtransactions and purchases everywhere in their game? Consistently you all manage to push out such an absurd change that completely tops the last awful update post.
Iām not trying to say that roblox is doomed and destined to die after this change, but this is a really, really bad update.
EDIT: Yeah Iām really late to this and didnāt see the roblox posted reply. Still, they should just completely scrap this instead of ārefiningā it.

I guarantee you more car companies are going to sue Roblox because of this. Itās already been done with Lamborghini, and now itās gonna end up happening with the companies that make the most basic and un-exotic cars, such as Toyota, General Motors or Ford.
