Exploit Allowing False Account Terminations

Exploit Allowing False Account Terminations – Needs Urgent Attention

Recently, a major issue has surfaced in the Roblox community where malicious users have found a way to falsely terminate innocent accounts. What’s even worse is that they’ve turned this into a service, allowing people to pay for the wrongful termination of other users. This is an extremely dangerous exploit that needs to be addressed immediately.

How This Exploit Works

  1. False Reports & System Abuse – The exploiters use a method that tricks Roblox’s moderation system into banning accounts that haven’t violated any rules. This is done through mass reporting, manipulating automated detection systems, or other means that force the moderation team to take action against innocent users.

  2. “Banning as a Service” – The individuals behind this are selling these false bans as a service, allowing others to pay them to get accounts terminated. This means anyone can become a target, whether they’re developers, content creators, or regular players.

  3. Exploiting the Appeal System – Once banned, the victims often find it extremely difficult to appeal their terminations. The current appeal system is largely automated and does not always provide proper human review, making it nearly impossible to reverse false bans.

Why This is a Huge Problem

  • Developers Are at Risk – Developers who have spent years building games, communities, and assets can lose everything overnight due to an exploit they have no control over.
  • Loss of Trust in Moderation – If bad actors can manipulate the system this easily, it undermines trust in Roblox’s ability to fairly moderate its platform.
  • Potential for Mass Abuse – If this exploit continues, it could become widespread, with more people using it to silence competitors, harass individuals, or simply cause chaos.

What Roblox Needs to Do

  1. Strengthen Report Verification – Reports leading to bans should be subject to stricter review before action is taken, especially in cases where account termination is involved.
  2. Increase Transparency in Moderation – Users need to receive more detailed explanations when banned, so they can better understand the reason and appeal properly.
  3. Improve the Appeal Process – There needs to be a more reliable and accessible way for falsely banned users to contact real moderators and present evidence proving their innocence.
  4. Crack Down on Exploiters – Roblox must actively investigate and take action against those offering these services, including banning their accounts and pursuing legal action if necessary.

How Developers Can Protect Themselves

Until Roblox addresses this issue, developers should take extra precautions:

  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to secure accounts.
  • Document all transactions and interactions in case proof is needed to dispute a ban.
  • Be cautious of suspicious activity in your games or messages, as some attackers may attempt to bait you into situations that can be used against you.

This exploit is not just an inconvenience—it is a direct attack on the integrity of Roblox’s moderation system and the safety of its users. If left unchecked, it could lead to widespread abuse and further damage the platform’s reputation. This issue needs immediate attention from Roblox to prevent more innocent users from losing their accounts unfairly.

Literally had my development account banned for “using an alternate account to avoid blah blah blah”, and support team :robot: couldn’t even tell me the username of the account that got it terminated, roblox support :robot: is a straight up joke.

dude the way you added the robot emoji is so edgy and tuff, ,but sometimes the thing that is the same happens to me when i upload an image that is like normal

I can’t refer to support in any other way, I’ve never seen anyone from my friend list, etc, appealing an account moderation. I highly doubt that almost every support employee is so ignorant and unprofessional.

i’m sure it’s real people but do you really think they care about your account? probably not, so they copy and paste their responses for the sake of time

While they might not care about your account, thier job is to reply to your appeals. No matter what you say, they will always state that moderation was fair and won’t be adjusted.

“Our moderation is fair and unbiased” is the ROBLOX equivalent of “Random crits are fair and balanced”

Roblox Support Team really doesn’t care about your issues. Some time ago i had a question related to personalization thumbnails analytics, and why it’s always 0 impressions. I chatted with :robot: a lot to get him understand the situation, and final message i got is reference to roblox API that doesn’t help me.

For a start, all of the replies above have nothing to do with this issue, so they can be ignored

Secondly, I’m not sure you’re going to get very far with filing this bug report as your only evidence is an X post on the issue. There’s no reproduction steps—no one knows how they do this, meaning engineers have nothing to work with. Until more information is outed from maybe the individuals who have been affected by these bans as to how they happened, I’m assuming not much will be done here.

I got false reported by people abusing the DSA form, and I got wrongfully terminated. Roblox really needs to fix this

Also notice how “user091441” don’t have any active game or is part of a game group as a developer, makes me think the verified badge is most likely bought from the black market as they are selling bans on it aswell, so why not? Everyday that passes I put less faith in this moderation, despite him doing all this he gets no bans?
