your backup list has innocent people and users who were terminated 1-2 years ago after doing some checking. I also joined one of the “exploiters” and talked with them for a little bit and they were being honest with me and saying that they don’t even know how to exploit + You had a video star creator on the ban list
Another proof why these united databases useless
It seems that the system is down, did you take it down for maintenance or something?
He didn’t, the person who hosted the server for him. for free did
The token was leaked and the website’s banlist json was flooded
We just shut down the system while we fix the issues
We didn’t notice any important damage
What? Your database was flooded with a lot of innocents accounts and you say no important damage?
asking exploiters if they cheated is like asking a murderer if he killed somebody
It’s now 22mb? Lol. Can I have this JSON file if you saved it?
“No important damage” hundreds of innocent accounts were added and HTTP limitations and/or server crashers were most likely caused by the breach.
This system is now fully useless due to the fact that entries are manually added (it was pretty useless before but whatever). I suggest working on a properly secure and sophisticated anticheat that can detect exploiters instead of manually adding accounts.
Blatant proof can be faked once again in studio by making a NPC with an AI with the name of the target
as example make him noclip through a wall
Sorry but I don’t have it anymore, also it was around 200mb when it went down.
This is why developers have such a hard time trusting these types of systems, they are so prone to this type of attacks. Good thing that no big developer used this.
Also @fabrice1236 how do you get your players on the explorer base in the 1st place? Do you just blindly take reports or what?
The trust is big problem, but most biggest problem here is security of this database. It got hacked
fun fact, using a public banlist will make you lose money :surprised_pikachu:
It’s over. This method has suffered too many attacks, it’s not sustainable.
It is. Everyone knew it was going to happen sooner or later anyway.
Like the idea, however idea had been tried many times.
- If everything has to be manually added by a human, how will I know that they have accurately banned someone and if they did how would the banned user appeal their ban?
- Anti-cheats have always caused false positives, how would I know that my functions (cars, guns, running system, etc) can get players banned for no reason.
- Anyone can spoof a players username on the client, this can be used to report an innocent player.
- How would I know that whoever has access to modifying of the database, won’t abuse their power?
