This map is still really neat with the updated version.
But, what I would change and what you could possible change is a few things.
-
Mixing textureless part (trunks) with textured leaves for trees, it tends to make the build look a little weird and throw off the vibes.
-
It might be the brightness & or the ambient alone, but it seems to light and too white to appear as an enchanted forest. Enchanted forests to me give a more mellow, evening, purple-like tone to it mixed with a variation of colors from things inside the forest, ex; warm lighting from mushrooms, fireflies, etc,.
-
The fireflies, (I assume theyâre fireflies, my apologies if Iâm wrong) appear to be too large, if it suits you, you could possibly size them down to a smaller size and than paste them around the map some more!
-
The branches spouting through the ground seem to have a lack of size-variation, they seem to be the same size from the time they sprout through and then go back into the ground, it might give it a better look if you gave them size variations :- )
-
The neon doesnât seem to contrast well with the mushrooms and such, (imo) if you want to give it a light effect but want to keep it subtle, you can use the lighting tool to add point-lighting to the spots and turn the brightness + range down on them so it doesnât dominate the area with mushroom lights! (You can use the F3X Building Tools to do this (in case you arenât already!)
-
The color choices donât really match with an enchanted forest vibe, theyâre too bright of a green to be âenchantedâ (imo) Maybe you can try a more dingy/darker shade of green to appeal more to the vibe/aesthetic of it.
-
Most nature texture packs are really unreliable for buildings unless you have intention of using textures for everything else as well. If you want to stick with using simple textures (wood, smooth plastic, neon, grass, etc,.) I would suggest that you just create your vines & tree leaves from parts as well, it might overall improve your overall look of the game.
Aside the small flaws, this is still really good and I canât wait to see the final product!
Here are a few reference images to help you out, one is an image from Vesteria & the other images I made myself.
This is also an attempted Enchanted Forest style.
I made a lobby map of an attempted mini Enchanted Forest, I used a variety of lightings to try and appeal to the aesthetic of it and such and tried to stay clear of any textures what wouldnât be fitting/wouldnât contrast well with the style I was already aiming for.
( I DID NOT MAKE THIS )
This is Vesteriaâs Enchanted forest map, it looks a little bare here, but it was very pretty and very appealing to look at while running through it with the use of proper lighting and steering clear of nature texture packs!
I hope something from this helped you, good luck!
