Feedback on GFX

Hello! Recently, I’ve started learning how to make GFXs and such, although I only have a couple weeks of experience. I have seen lots of cool thumbnails across Roblox, especially ones that have all sorts of cool details/color overlays. So, I was wondering how I could improve my GFXs, and maybe get some feedback? Here’s an example of a thumbnail I tried to create. It’s pretty simple, and there’s not much going on, but I haven’t yet discovered many things to add.

If I could get the answers to these questions, I’d appreciate it so much!

What applications/websites are useful for this other than Blender and Pixlr?

What could I add to the thumbnail to make it better?

Where do people get all those overlays/effects?

Thanks so much!

Looks really good! If I were you I would add some rim lighting aswell as turning the character abit to the left or right, to add some depth to her.

Everything else looks great! Keep it up

I myself use paint dot net, its not the best but yea, there are others such as gimp, photoshop, photopea (ripoff of photoshop)

use a rig and pose, and an hdri if you cant make good lighting using suns and such, MattRBX’s rigs are good for beginners

Just type the effect you want in google and download a transparent thing, or you can just make them in blender but its kinda hard

Yeah, I did use a rig. It might be a bit hard to tell since the pose wasn’t that much, and I wasn’t sure how to pose the character on a thumbnail. But thanks for the tips, I’ll keep that in mind!

For overlays/effects, the most EFFECTIVE and time saving method would be to download a thumbnail pack/gfx pack They’re usually PSD though, you’d have to find a pixlr one

the background is clean, i like it. the character posing is just bad, make it more INTERESTING. have softer lighting (Making soft and good GFX lighting, with a yellow purple yellow pattern diagonally).

Photoshop, GIMP, Photopea, ETC.

already said that

there are many overlay and effect packs online that you can find

they are usually .psd, and are only openable with photopea or photoshop

Okay, thank you! I’ll be sure to apply that in my future GFXs.
