Feedback on Marketplace Build

I have recently started working on a game and I was working on the marketplace portion of the map so now that I’ve mostly finished it I wanted some feedback on how I could improve it! Note: There are a lot of shops because it is a marketplace, and those shops aren’t for buying anything, more for quests and such. Here are some screenshots of the work:

I really like the store where it seems to sell fishing products (6 image). I would recommend replacing the brick material with a tent or wood to fit the material. On the parts where things are held, place a stone shape to hold the wood in some parts. Great job

Firstly, I’d like to just state, I would appreciate if you provided more work than this. This is barley anything to go off of besides some props laying around for a future marketplace. However, I presume you are going for a cartoon look since that seems to be what everyone is driving for on Roblox.

If you can, I’d work on it a bit more, search up images, and just in general browse around to find ideas and concepts you can implement. This is hardly anything at all, and I hate to be a downer, but there is just nothing to make a basis for other Developers to provide feedback.

How to Make a Quality "Looking for Feedback" Thread Check this out if you have time!

Ideas

  • Scrapping the bottom of the barrel, the only thing I can say, would to make the shops more complex/larger than what they are. They just seem to be shacks/tents setup, now if that’s what you just want, it’s perfectly fine. However, if I may add, I would suggest making a shop similar to the Deathrun 2 stores by Zomebody. (I presume Zomebody built them since he recently made a decent showcase, to which I recommend checking out.)

  • They are simple, but full of detail and I believe the idea you might be wanting to achieve, just not being able to picture it fully. I hope in the future you can provide more work for others to make a basis off of. I do apologize if I came off stingy or a bit negative.

Best of wishes and good luck!!

I should’ve been more specific then store… I was going for that food shack sort of look to elaborate.

There, I added a bit more information, but other then that I don’t really think I can give much more.

I see what you mean, and as for props instead of “marketplace” to which when I imagine a market place, I imagine the surrounding, paths, rocks etc to make it lively. Props alone, I’d go for a realistic approach by using textures and what not. However I guess you can use meshes to make curtains and planks whilst still using a low poly design on your marketplace. It would give detail.

See this, is just far too basic for a game. I would use either a cartoony texture/decal to put onto a mesh plank. Or you can just make a mesh plank with nails to make it pop out more with detail. I see what you mean now with how you were originating with this post, just remember to provide the most amount of information you can while posting. :+1:

Ok, thank you for the help. I experimented with textures but I couldn’t really seem to find a texture that suited the individual builds well.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll make sure to add those details! I came here hoping to get ideas for detailing and now I see things that I could add to make this more detailed… minor but important things to make this more realistic!
