Feedback on my Horror Game - The Whisper

My game, The Whisper, is a horror game releasing on March 12th, 2022. It consists of many horror elements and a storyline along with it.

I would love to see constructive and solid feedback as I want to know how I can make the game better. This game went through 4 stages of development as I wasn’t happy with the product of the game. Add in your most honest opinions so I know what to improve on overall.

I’m unable to test it as the game is set to private

I feel a bit generic, do you?
I know DevForum is a place where everyone is like a family but I still need a bit of description and introduction for the game or else I can’t understand anything, feels the same as any other horror games.

How heavily inspired?

Don’t include tags in description, it looks tacky.

But the game itself looks interesting.

Edit: spelling

I may have released this post too early, but the game is now up. Give some honest feedback!

Assets are heavily inspired, but I’m not sure if that counts.

I see many games with tags and I figured it would help with the search engine.

I added a little storyline at the start of the description. It’s not too much of the story, but it may hook players and giving too much of the storyline will ruin future updates.

It’s just too too generic. Your game won’t be able to beat games on the platform unless you put a good amount of ads

I can see why, but I will add my fair share of things. There aren’t as many popular horror games out there to begin with as well.

That’s a good attitude.
Ive seen quite a lot of horror games with a dark icon and a picture of their creature. It’s pretty much all the same concept with different Characters, story and map.

Maybe you could provide ideas on how to make this horror game stand out?

Try to make the lighting good.
It means PLAYER FRIENDLY.
The current horror games are just WAY too dark. If you played pro horror games like Dead by daylight, their atmosphere is depressing and scary but visible.
We want the players to be scared, not annoyed by total darkness.

Are you saying my horror game is too dark? If so, thank you for the information. I see what kind of atmosphere you are talking about.

I have to say that 300+ favorites on a game that has 5k or so visits its not bad at all.
