Feedback on my Japanese High School showcase game!

Greetings everyone! (This is my first post, pardon me if I posted in the wrong forum page/missed out on anything.)

I attempted to make a showcase game as these types of genres appeal to me the most in Roblox, still incomplete. It is based on Japanese/Anime High Schools.

However, the completed parts that I worked on seems to feel something off. I had no experience in texturing textures so I ended up using only Roblox’s default textures, maybe I need to learn texturing if possible? I currently only used Roblox Studio to make my own models and the whole map, again maybe I should start using Blender?

Not too sure on whether I should complete building the map or improve on the completed parts first. Any feedbacks will be greatly appreciated!

Here is the link to my game if anyone is interested. It might be laggy for you but I will work on it soon to fix the issue.

I legit can tell you that this build really reminds me to one of those anime cutscenes in a highschool, some sort.

Details looks good! Good luck on your success of your showcase

I like the lightning and the shadows, and I like the style of the building. You are doing a good job on this!

It’s really good. I used to be in Japan when in 1st and 2nd grade so personally, this is a memory. (Even though this is a high school building)

Keep up with the amazing work. :+1:

I love it! Try working on the inside lighting a little, seems very dark.

You forgot the most important parts!

  1. The main character must be sitting here!
Where the main character MUST sit.

  1. The main character must have the most w a c k hair ever.
  2. Don’t forget the Cherry Blossoms being spammed outside.
  3. Make the generic literature club room. Doki Doki literature club
Generic meeting room

Looks good but the only thing i would to it is point-lights, or whatever else you like, or maybe i just can’t see the lights.

Is this from yandere simulator?

Yep its currently not there yet but I planned on adding it soon. Thanks for the feedback though!

It’s amazing! But you could use some improvements on your build (such as adding a P.E class,a garden and ect)

Back then I tried looking into that game for reference but it wasn’t really what I was looking for. Might look more into it when I get back on building

I love it, very detail. maybe just add some texture on the window, and doors. you can probably find a image on google for the texture. and maybe add some trees? and a clock! something like this.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your feedback! Is it really okay to just take a texture image in google and use it? Won’t there be copyright issues?

I don’t think it would be copyright since it’s just a texture. but you can ask around the forum, and make sure. you can do it!

I might ask around the forum if I still can’t find answers, thanks again!

Looks good! I suggest adding more details.

Seems a bit small in my opinion.
I by far know nothing about Japanese high schools, but from what I’ve seen from movies and animes, they are very large. This school seems too thin and too skinny.

I would recommend using blender for smaller things, such as furnisher, small objects, fences, or advanced parts. For other things, such as walls, rooms, windows, or anything structural, I recommend to just make them in studio.

Overall I rate this a 7/10. Looks good, but has flaws.

Thanks! Can I ask which part of the building I should add more details at?

Back then I tried playing around different thickness of wall size, 1 pixels, half a pixels and 2 pixels thick. I ended off with 1 pixels thickness as any thicker/thinner looks weird, maybe it’s just me.

It is really some good advice when you specify on when to use Blender and when to use Roblox Studios for the building phase, especially for someone like me who is currently building for fun.

Lastly, I appreciate your feedback as every single bits of improvements to work on are worthwhile!
