Feedback on Simulator UI

Would like to get some opinions on the UI I’ve created. I have only got 2 days of experience  so obviously its not the greatest.

For only two days of experience, you’ve done an excellent job! Most of the icons you’ve chosen for the UI are easy to interpret, which is great.

The main thing that’s standing out to me is the diamond UI. The blue colour of the diamond blends in too much with the blue UI box, making it a bit difficult to see at a glance. I’d suggest changing the diamond’s colour to something that contrasts better with the blue backdrop or adding a small white outline to the current icon to make it stand out more.

I’m also a little unsure as to what the Roblox logo icon button would do. If I were to give a guess, I’d say it showed the player’s in-game profile. If that’s not the case, it might a good idea to explore alternative icons for this button that better reflect its purpose.

Overall however, this is great work for someone with only two days of experience. Mastering simple buttons is the first step to bigger and better things!

This is pretty good for only two days of experience! I have a couple suggestions:

  • The fact that the money and whatever the text next to the face represents is black while all the icons above it are white is unappealing. See how it looks if you make the text white!
  • As Craftero said, the blue of the diamond blends too much with the blue of the frame.
  • The refresh (swirly arrow) icon is off center, or at least it looks to be.
  • The + buttons to buy faces and coins looks a bit out of place. Maybe try expanding the frame so that it’s not hanging off it and lighten up the background color a bit?

Other than that, you’ve done a great job. Good work.

Yeah I also noticed the diamond blending in with the background. I’ll make sure to change it.

It’s good, but you should make the text color white, to make it more consistent.

Thanks for the replies, I have made some changes! What do you think?

Edit: Realized the shadow on the diamond button was missing

That’s a lot better! The + buttons still look a bit out of place, though. Try lightening the colors and don’t have them dangling off the frame.

Is this better?

Yeah! I like that a lot. Good luck with your game/commission!

Not bad, I’d add some color variations for each button, but the style was implemented pretty well! Well done!

I did try to add color variation before, each button was a completely different color from the rest while still trying to represent what the button was for. Did not work out. There was too much variety so it ended up looking like some kind of rainbow.

You should have seen the difference, this was just better.

Hmm, I can understand that. Other than the mentioning of variations, the UI looks good.

Just a little detail, I see that the border of the buttons is less that the borders of the stats.

Link? If I get to test it out I can give better feedback.

Link to what? The entire game or an empty game with ui? I haven’t made any UI except for the buttons so nothing happens when you click.

The link to the game, not the source of the UI.
I’m not interested in that instead the UI’s. But you need to join Game to see UI’s

Sorry I don’t want to spoil the game idea

Hey, wondering what you used for your images and how long to learn that software you use?

Since I am not a “Professional UI Designer” and I am only 13 I haven’t bought a program. I got a trial of Affinity Designer and did some UI’s there. I have used Paint.Net before so it was relatively easy to learn.

I’d personally say Affinity Designer is easy to learn but you only get a 10 day trial and if you do not want to spend money I would recommend Paint.Net.

So was made with paint.net also how long to learn and what did you use to learn?
