it just looks weird to have a square ui like that centered in the corner to suddenly jolt all over the place when walking
The background makes it seem like it should be ‘solid’
if it’s going to move it should be more translucent and blend into the environment more
Protip: I discovered this while playing Borderlands 2, if you haven’t already, make ejected bullet shells a GUI animation.
I was playing BL2 and I wanted to look at the bullet shells on the floor, so i spam shot and looked at where the bullet shells should be on the floor- no shells to be found! They used GUIs to render the shell animation! took me by freaking storm

Making them a GUI will be ugly. Plus, I’m not really worried about any lag. All under control.
The gun and atmosphere you got going on there remind me of glacier, man how I wish that game would have been finished up.
Those animations look great though. The walking one I think should have the gun respotion itself closer to your body rather than just shaking it about in front of your character like it is now,

The invoronment is based of an old school project of mine, where we had to design an actual map. And yes, the gun is actually based of the gun BODY of the gun in Glacier. Glad you noticed!
No it isn’t. I made a breathing animation when you’re idle. You can inspect your gun whenever you want (ofcourse not when you’re reloading or doing some parkour. You can activate with the T key (Will be changeable ingame). It’s basicly made for when you crafted a new stock or barrel. So you can check out what it looks like.
Oh man, Glacier, that brings back some memories. This actually reminds me more of the idea I had before I did work on Glacier haha. The only thing I’d improve is the interface. Maybe go for a more stylized HUD or minimal UX. Information is overwhelming and finding good ways to communicate all of it is super important for a game.
I hope the gameplay is like what I had in mind for Glacier, I daydreamed of so many cool scenarios that could happen when playing. Looks awesome, really pleased with your attention to detail =)
