Fill in Air Below Imported Heightmap Terrain

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to detail by eroding and smoothing and further improve the already imported heightmap generation to it’s full potential due to it’s blanket-like and thin nature.

Take a look at this image:

The amount of thickness this terrain lacks is absurd. Eroding and smoothing will both create a hole to the void, and there’s no easy way to fill it in. It’s so thin there’s nothing you can do but add onto the terrain.

It’s like a blanket: certain areas can get taller or shorter but it will always have the same thickness.

I would like it so that all terrain below this blanket would be filled in. Smoothing and eroding would now make sense. It would look something like this:

Something related: if Roblox were to have imported heightmap terrain already smooth, this wouldn’t be so much of an issue. See this sister topic: Automatically Smooth Out Imported Heightmap Terrain

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because terrain heightmaps would be much easier to improve and be much easier to edit upon due to their improved thickness.
