First Attempt at an Intro

This is my first attempt at creating an intro for one of my games, I was hoping to get some feedback on the intro, and the name as well. you can check out the intro here. The intro is supposed to represent the main character in a dream state, then they are woken up by a boom sound and they wake up to find themselves seemingly alone on the ship. The name I have currently settled on is Sinking Feeling, but I feel there could be a much better name to suit the game. The premise of the game is your a third class passenger onboard a ship in the late 1910’s. The ship is torpedoed and the main character awakens finding themselves abandoned on the ship below decks, and they must find their way through the ship to escape. I’d be very interested to hear peoples opinions on the intro and potential name suggestions that could replace Sinking Feeling. Thanks for reading!

Looks amazing! I don’t have any suggestions being honest.

Thanks for your feedback! I’m just looking for a different name because Sinking Feeling kinda feels more like a cartoonish kinda name to me, since I intend for the game to be more serious and give kind off a scary more worried feeling.

It looks amazing!!! How is this your first attempt!!! This should be my 100th attempt. It is really good. The only thing i would like to see is you able to walk in the hallway.

Great intro, really great! I love the feel, the music, everything, but I don’t know if you want feedback on the build, I feel like the design of the room isnt well blended.

I dont know how to explain. it just looks like separate models and not like part of the room, try maybe blending everything up together.

Sorry for bad expalanation

It looks awesome! The only thing wrong with it is that you can see the room before the intro is done playing at the bottom of the screen.

This can be easily fixed if ScreenGui.IgnoreGuiInset is true and the background size is 1,0,1,0 to fit the whole screen. I’d think it’s a small mistake during development.

I get what you mean, and i’ll definitely put that into some consideration as I think this should be a easy fix

Thank you for this generous tip, I definitely have to try this since my only solution before was to just make the black extremely big so it goes offscreen on all sides

Being just a teaser the door is simply locked because it is just meant to give a small taste, but have no fear In the official game you wont be stuck in just one room

It’s really nice!
I only have two issues I have with this, the black frame doesn’t cover the whole of the screen, so you can see a few pixels of the game in the background. (Although this is rare, it just comes and goes for no reason, I use 1920 by 1080)

Secondly, the fading effect that you use for the text and that one image doesn’t feel smooth it felt jittery.
Over-all, a very good start for your first intro; Needs some improvements but that’s it.

I definitely know what your talking about with the fading effect on the image, I’ll try to make that more smoother by screenshotting it so the text and image are one, rather than fading a text and image at the same time itll just have to fade one image.

Hi there! It looks great from my POV just a few issues. the intro frame does not cover the whole screen. From the other feedback I saw it looks like you have it covered. The second one is that the logo’s during the intro are either not centered or it’s my laptop. But overall it’s a great experience and I love the builds! Keep it up.

Thank you for your feedback, I’ll definitely go back and check on how centered the text and things are!

To be honest, your game looks amazing, I don’t think there’s much you can approve but when I was playing your game I was jumping and I somehow got in a bed and I was stuck there for quite a while so you should try fixing that otherwise looks amazing, props to you!

Thank you for pointing this out, I should definitely lower the jump power since I see no reason why there would be much jumping in my game if any

You should probably remove jump.

that’s some pro gamer content over here
the guis are not perfectly adjusted tho, that means if you play in the lowest resolution it might mess up

fix : use scale instead of offset for the size

I think I fixed it I have just discovered anchorpoint, as far as I know that should fix the problem occuring.

I really like the intro, it’s very well made. I can see above that I was a bit late to this, so everything was fixed in the intro that I can see as of right now.

I would add a stamina feature to this game when you continue your progression, because I can hear the breathing when the intro is completed. I also noticed the breathing randomly stops after a few seconds upon entering also. Most games like these have a stamina feature implemented, so I would try to add one!
