As most of you might know, we have shipped the new fonts system. Going forward we want to introduce 5 new fonts as soon as possible for you to use. You can find the current list of fonts we have shortlisted here - Decour Soft - Album on Imgur
So reply in this thread with your top 5 in order so we can triage and finalize what fonts we ship. There is a fair bit of diversity in terms of genre when we selected the fonts so for most of you it should be comprehensive. Due date for reply is Tuesday April 5th. Anything after that will not be considered.
In case you have recommendation for a font that you really like, as part of your reply link to the said font.
DISCLAIMER: Will reject any font that is $ per āinstalled userā This will be prohibitively expensive for us.
And before you ask for letting you upload fonts. We are looking into this. Font industry is fair bit backwards in terms of letting content creators leverage them. And working through the details will take time. In the meantime the shortlisted fonts that we provide will have to do.
Here is a poll thanks to āFromLegoUniverseā

[EDIT] If you are suggesting fonts it also must support eastern european character sets. Extended latin, umlauts, cyrillic.
The problem with polls is that theyāre open to non-members. The staff might want to restrict the voting to members of the forum so the results reflect what developers need instead of what game players (that vastly outnumber developers that arenāt in dev) would like to see.
I think Roblox could use more āhandwrittenā fonts (i.e. Harimua Dua) for things like signs and books, but iām pretty down for more sleek fonts, too.
Looks like a nice diverse bunch of fonts there.
My picks:
Cover Sans
Jotia
Jolly Good
Dez Pertranian
Delm
Cover Sans has that subtle futurey look to it that gives me scifi feels. Jotia just seems like a nice font for text that isnāt too genre specific. Jolly Good for a good looking cartoon font. Dez Pertranian for your medieval literature and signage. Delm because I had another choice and it seemed like a decent thing to throw in the mix.
Edit: added my choices to the poll.
Jotia is very readable and non-obnoxious for a font that still retains its character. I like.
I feel that Meltdown Open and Space Colony would become overused pretty quickly.
My recommendation is definitely Roboto. Itās a geometric typeface designed by Google thatās both very readable at every size and is suitable for a huge range of game genres.
Itās also open source.
The logic here is that themed fonts are far more important than regular fonts because at one end of the spectrum you have someone who just needs to get something written down, itās more than likely at least one of the fonts will work for that case (As with the current set of fontsā¦ we make do) whereas someone looking for a themed font for their game will have no options becuase they are all pretty basic.
You can upload a decal for any font. Does anyone do that? Not really. Why? because it takes too much time, is tricky to implement and work with. Thereās a reason why fonts exist.
