Set the graphics mode to Direct3D11 and see if that changes anything.
We’re getting closer and closer to the industry standard!
I’m especially find of how the shadow maps even project through flat textures.
Will we ever get the ability to customize the rendering distance of the shadows by any degree? In larger-scale projects, this seems like it could still hold us back a bit from an amazingly rendered scene.
Uhhhh that’s on by default for Character models and does not cast shadows while in first person, due to the character model being invisible.
So I still get this issue when using shadow mapping in my map. In the image it looks fine but in the gif below it you can see the weird glitching issue.

Here’s a bug – Disabling GlobalShadows
only hides the low LOD voxel shadows far away from the camera, not the sharp shadows.
Just making sure, but you did restart studio, right?
Cant wait for its full release!
Yes. I restarted studio. While trying to solve the problem with your solution.
I just noticed that you were using a Mac, and Macs don’t support DirectX11
Check if the other graphics modes works for you.
Hey, sorry to bother you guys on this but do you guys have an update on when the next custom Studio build of Future is Bright (v17) is coming out? I know you guys are working hard on Phase 2 but I think we’d all like to see when v17 is being released. If you guys don’t have an update on it then that’s okay.
This is weird as I am on a Mac and ShadowMap is working perfectly right off the bat.
Then again, I have a cheese grater Mac Pro with a third party graphics card in it. But I didn’t have to change any settings or anything.
Maybe just a problem with newer Macs?
Wowie! The rig also shades! Good job Developer Relations!
If this happened it’ll be nice to have something like a minimum and maximum other than a single value.
is there anyway to make the shadows transition smooth from a spot to another, yes I am using tweenservice to change the time of the day but the shadows seem to “Teleport”
I think the shadow update speed is dependent on your graphics card, meaning if you have a slower GPU or integrated graphics, the shadows might lag behind where they’re actually supposed to be.
