This is incredibly beautiful. Gives a good look for games.
I’m incredibly impressed but there’s still a long way to go.

Is this a feature?

This is simply amazing, three cheers to the engineers at Roblox! Wondering if the lighting will be adjusted brighter though, as it’s quite darker than its predecessors.
Interesting lighting artifacts with a surface light, range set to 60, angle set to 0 or 1, and brightness at 10. Sorry if this is beating a dead horse, I just can’t read all of the 272 messages.

Is there an estimate on when this will be out of Studio Beta, and be usable in game?
I wonder why they did that tho… i suppose it’s just because they’re trying to make it more performance oriented but having and option for the higher quality ones using like some kind of option to change the dependence of the graphics to the GPU would really help with future graphics updates.
Very happy to see fib finally be added, but metal seems to be way too dark
Edit: Setting material of metal parts to marble seems to be a good enough workaround for now
To describe this in one word, stunning.
The game isn’t released yet, it will release August - September. But I assume it’s gonna run fine, if you can run vehicle sim at 30 FPS or so, you can run this at 60 FPS easily
Rocky is right. I used a model with lower resolution textures, less polygons, no interior, and some missing components for the “reflection”. It’s more performant than I thought it would be, makes sense given that computers nowadays are more than capable of moving that many polygons.
Still will add a setting to disable them - some mobile users will struggle
So will normal maps and specular maps be next after this? I can’t wait for jailbreak to release the new lighting too, the bank and j store are gonna look great and i cant wait for museum.
Looks amazing! Can’t wait to test it out.
Possibly, but right now it acts like real lighting, the closer the light instance is to the part that its creating the shadow off of, the cleaner the shadow is. But the further away it is, the shadow is softer. So it wouldn’t exactly make sense for it to affect it.
