How efficient will this be for mobile players? Will they be able to experience this lighting without having to drop the quality down too much?
I think you might be getting confused about which shadow property he is talking about. ‘CastShadow’ is a property of a part which means you can turn off shadows for that part only while keeping shadows for other parts from the same light source.

When is it gonna be public for SERVERS and not just studio?
Based off of ROBLOX’s 2020 Platform Roadmap, this was originally scheduled to be released during October to December of 2020. Although it appears that this update may be ahead of schedule (from the outside), I’m unsure if they ever release anything before the original expected timeframe. However, it’s likely guaranteed to be released for live game servers before 20201.
Will FiB 3 ever be compatible with the lowest graphics settings? I would love to see this lighting technology used in horror games, but turning the graphics to 1 would give an unfair advantage since shadows aren’t cast by parts.
There is so much good work here, it’s getting me kinda motivated
This is part of why I don’t really see anybody using the new lighting in places other than, say, showcases, until this is resolved.
it’s really cool it’s the most thing i use always when it comes to lightning this really improve on how cool the game looks keep the good work Roblox
roblox still looks dumb compared to other videogames, that limits my freedom while building but this is a step in the right direction, hope we get more improved physics engines & graphics in the future

This issue just started randomly appearing. At this very specific area, there’s a hole through a building’s shadow for seemingly literally no reason. This lighting doesn’t seem ready for large maps yet (even though my map literally has like only 2 streets and an airport). This bubble thing teleports around when i move around the area and antialiasing doesn’t seem to work on it. I’m honestly wondering if lighting will even exist in the final game.
Hence why future isn’t publishable. This is the phase where it goes through developer testing, so that the issues can be fixed before final release.
I actually just found out the problem still happens on shadowmap O_o
