OH MY GOSH i need this in live game. This is the thing I’ve wanting for so long!
I can’t want until its out of beta and live.
Is it roblox just cant beleive my eyes
This is a perfect example of how important lighting is. Can’t wait for release.
Try setting the Camera.Focus closer to the ground, not sure if it’ll help although it’s worth a shot
Games created outside of the Roblox engine probably get away with being able to have fly-bys like this because of lighting being baked in & swapped out for real-time lighting when you get closer. I can’t see having an increased render distance being very good on performance.
You’re completely right, but at the same time roblox also has to factor in lower end devices in order to include them into the equation. Although I do believe roblox is improving and will continue to.
I understand your point but I simply dont care about low end devices, if roblox doesnt wanna evolve so low-end devices can run it then I’ll leave, simple as that.
That’s incredibly rude towards everyone who doesn’t have the money to afford an overpriced high-end gaming PC. There’s no need to be extremely rude towards a high proportion of Roblox’s userbase.
I understand that you want to take your profession to a higher level, but the majority of people who play roblox won’t have the ability to even view any of that content you could make on Roblox because of the detail. Plus, it’s not like it’s the easiest thing in the world to just make it run better on mobile. Plus, Roblox does want to evolve to go on lower-end Devices. From what I know, the main reason why FIB, PBR, and mesh deformation even exists is to give devs a bigger reason not to leave with unity and compete with them. But yes, they are behind every other engine.
Okay, so you’re willing to leave a platform that’s already impressive as it is, aka you can ship your game to all platforms without having to wait for your game/levels to compile & lightmaps to bake.
What Roblox is able to do at this scale is ALREADY incredible.
Not everyone has a high-end PC, and if you’re designing your game with that in mind you’ve lost a major user base.
It isn’t our job to care about low-end devices. If I don’t want to sacrifice my game’s visual quality just so it can run on a phone, that’s my choice and I should be able to make it. Your reply makes no sense.
I disagree, most of Roblox’s users on on mobile. Plus, there are many ways to optimize a Roblox game.
I really don’t care. I’m not a mobile developer. I shouldn’t be forced into those constraints if I don’t want to be.
I’m not forcing you. You can do what you want.
At least try to optimize.
Of course you don’t. Roblox does, though.
Always! Resources you don’t need to be spending doing some silly calculation somewhere are resources you can use to make the game prettier or spend on another feature. But again, Roblox should not be making this decision for me if I don’t want them to be.
I think that Roblox needs to upgrade their game engine so not all developers have to optimize the heck out of their game. It gets annoying when I lag on most games.
You’re right, you don’t need to sacrifice crucial things about your game for mobile players, but then a line needs to be drawn between business and graphics/optimization IMO. Although I agree that not all roblox games need to be on mobile, but then your roblox game will get significantly less traction. It’s all the player’s decision really.
I would definitely agree with that. Roblox should give you as much abilities as Unity or some other engines. But then mobile players and lower-end devices would suffer. I think one of the highlights of roblox is the interaction between a huge variety of players on completely different devices or systems. Besides xbox. They’re in a terrible place rn.
absolutely gorgeous, hats off to roblox
I ran a place with a large map running future, my view distance was very short and it was heavily laggy. I have a GeForce GT 1030 and an i7-3820.
