Glass material turns pure white with shadows enabled

When making some opaque windows for my game, I noticed that the glass material, no matter the color, is always pure white. However, the issue does not exist when I turn off global shadows (My game has no post-processing effects enabled)

Note that the glass part here has 0 reflectance property

However, when looking at it from an angle, the color does appear visible:

The issue persists after resetting all my lighting settings

Expected behavior

The color of the glass should be visible even with shadows on

You also need to give a reproduction place file. I myself could not find this issue:

Hi, so after further testing it seems like the issue only occurs for:

Well-lit dark indoor environments where you are close up to a big piece of glass with global shadows turned on

For any other case the colors do appear normally

I have no idea if this is intended behaviour, tho i’m keeping the post up just incase because it is somewhat annoying

Hi athar_adventure,

Thank you for reporting this. Although it may seem funky, this is how the system is designed to work (ie there is no bug here). It’s just what these different lighting circumstances result in. Seems like you’ve figured out how to workaround these quirks, kudos to you!

Once again, thanks for reporting this!

Best,
