Glue Joints + PGS Solver = Unstable

I built a tower out of parts where every side is a Glue joint. I want World of Goo style joints where they can be broken by impacts.

It works fine with the old solver but it behaves badly with PGS on. In the image below all I am doing is pressing Play in Studio.

I’m not sure if there is glue support in PGS yet, some staff members commented this 7-8 months ago:

But apparently it was still planned:

Maybe one of these people can comment on the issue.

There’s partial glue support - IIRC we mostly stabilized it for cases when glue is used as a ball-in-socket. cc @timobius @chefdeletat

Glue joints for the purpose of having a breakable and compliant connection between parts have been delayed so we can focus on mechanical joints (ball-socket, spring, sliding joints, etc) using the PGS solver.

Yes indeed glue joints are currently quite unstable under PGS. They should be used only as a way to make a ball-in-socket (which soon you won’t need as the new joints are released).

Thanks Tim.

Can’t wait to get my hands on that RopeConstraint. :happy4:
