Graphics don't render properly

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750
CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i3-8100 CPU @ 3.60GHz
Memory: 12 GB

First of all, Normal Maps are completely broken right now. The default stud texture is the best example. It doesn’t have a Normal Map even when my graphics are on max level.

Other issue is Realistic Lighting. Now it’s just gone, shadows included

Here’s another screenshot. This is how it’s supposed to look like but doesn’t (It definetely wasn’t an update on the game’s end)

The rendering as a whole is just Level 1 rendering, only difference being that Horizon-Based Ambient Occlusion is rendered with it

Expected behavior

Should render like it always did in Max Graphics, but doesn’t.

Did you try doing a clean reinstall of Roblox? If not try it.

If that doesn’t work it could be a new update. Your PC specs are on the low-end side so it’s probably Roblox’s way of optimizing low end device performance.

I have done a reinstall of Roblox. My PC isn’t that bad though. most games I play run well so idk why Roblox would just make my game Level 1 graphics with just ambient occlusion.

I feel like if Roblox added something like this they would atleast add a way to turn it off..

Well, it’s a global bug. I have this issue too. In Roblox Studio the same bug

This issue should be resolved in an hour.

I am having this exact same problem with a GT730! I’m glad to have found a post about this

so Im guessing the issue in theory should be solved but im still experiencing exactly the same problem. not entirely sure if it has to do with the fact I own a AMD GPU. shadows are all completely gone, no future lighting and it looks like im using the bare minimum level of graphics which im not.

(dont mind the language switch I pretty much had to completely uninstall roblox and freshly install it again to see if the problem persisted which it did)

What GPU are you using specifically?

Sorry I should’ve included my pc specs In the original post but my specs are:

CPU:intel core i5-7500
GPU: amd r7 450 4gb
RAM: 16GB

I totally understand my GPU may be on the rather low end side of things but I still had better lighting before whatever update messed with it. It used future lighting and played games comfortably but now it’s like I’m constantly playing at 1 graphics Quality like you saw in the screenshots.

I don’t think this GPU should struggle to run Roblox at max Quality it didn’t before it shouldn’t now. I also uninstalled it cleanly like I mentioned and I’m pretty sure the drivers are up to date… So I’m not sure what’s going on here.

Could you send over some app logs please when you start up? Your spec are well above what I expect to be able to run our shaders. The latest one will do. They should be in

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Roblox\logs

hello im sorry but at the moment I dont exactly have access to that computer since sent it for repairs today (busted power supply). but I tested roblox on a spare pc with lower specs and almost similar GPUs. im sure this also ran roblox with better lighting and i got just now the same results.
CPU: intel i5-650
RAM: 4GB
GPU:R5 430 2GB
as far as im aware the R7 450 and the R5 are almost similar. the performance jump between the two isnt exactly that different. its not the most optimal way to play roblox but I dont think it should look like that even at max graphics level.

(this is an example of how it looked before. this is the current pc im using.)

a test i just did with this computer same results.

unless roblox increased recently pc specs requirements for normal shadows or lighting technology in general. not sure whats going on here but looks like a bug with the graphics slider

I hope this is the log you mentioned.

A lot of players play roblox with even worse computers so I just dont think shadows should look like that even when you’re maxing it out

I have no idea why the first computer is disabling the high quality lighting. The second one seems to be getting limited due to ram constraints.
