Groups with millions of membersā¦make millions, unless botted or not monetised.
I myself along with my partner have over a million members. Thatās a cost that weāre able to cover, with that many members, players will typically always come unless youāre doing something extremely wrong.
What happens if someone else decides to heavily bot my group, so I canāt change my group name.
Plus, this sort of thing discourages getting more members into your group since every member is an extra Robux you need to pay for changing the group name.
Such botting hasnāt existed for over 2 years. Rest assured, due to technical limitations, that is extremely unlikely and practically nobody will experience that.
You also claim that gaining members in such a scenario is a discouragement. You truly donāt understand the scope of how much these groups can make, they make all that by attracting people to their group, which is worth more than 1 single robux.
After checking, I make over 1000 robux per paying user. One single paying user can stand for 1000 new members.
Thatās 1000 paying users for a million members, which is practically nothing. Keep in mind that 1 million members is on the higher end.
If we go even super conservative on the numbers and say 250,000 members. Thatās 250 paying users.
I rather pay such a small cost relative to the success of my groups to not have some other person come in, pay 100 robux and suddenly outcompete everyone, which only makes so the circle at the top only becomes smaller.
Not all people are like that, you are rich but some people has 100 member group whilst their users donāt want to buy shirts, maybe like 2 people but thatās it.
Donāt expect everyone to have such good stuff like yours
Itās not in place. It was my idea to not disturb the group eco system which only hurts us all in the end. Except for the top dogs willing to abuse this.
You, HDMI just successfully created your awesome and super unique sci-fi group that just takes off, you start to gain thousands of members and see some profits coming to your account, youāre on the top of the world.
But then, one day; someone who owns several groups takes one and changes the group name something similar to your Sci-Fi community. Thatās terrible news, because how can you ever compete with someone whoās making millions of robux a month and has top developers?
Thatās where my point is, this hurts the eco system of groups and people who try and working hard to succeed; at any second a group can pop up with 100 times more members and suddenly have the same nameā¦for only 100 robux.
Hey @BitwiseAndrea ! I sent you a message about some issues I am having with the group name-changing feature. Anyway you could look at that for me? Thanks so much!
Firstly, Iād just like to say thank you for this update, after the 13 years of no group re-naming, itās nice to see a change.
Secondly, I donāt think the price should be equivalent to the purchase of a group. Bump it down to 50 or something.
I like how everybody whoās complaining is saying it took Roblox 10 years. I do agree with them it took a little long, but we all know Robloxās code is still stuck to 2008. Still, this update is amazing. Thanks Roblox!
Nothing wrong with this update. 10/10 update this month.
