Unfortunate that you cant use group funds, and 3 months is an extremely long amount of time to wait for a name change after changing ownership.

Not really a good idea in my opinion, they should make it like usernames where only the original person who used the username can use it again.
For example, the username I created this account with is john_d0e9571.
No one else can change their name to it or make a new acc with the name of it, only I can change my name back to it.

Thank you for this AMAZING feature! If this feature was out about a year ago, I’d be very glad to have not lost ~93 users from creating a new group with a better name.

WOWIE! Now groups with odd names like super duper cool armey can now be _______ Studios. Good if a game name has changed.

It’s past usernames except this is really made specific for thousands of us who’s made a mistake in the group name, or just want to change it, but in theory nobody changes a username like a group name (we ain’t meta). So I’m just suggesting 2 options, either completely remove the ability to see the past group names, or give us the ability to choose whether we want it displayed or not.

Even this is overdue, that new feature in this update is appreciated! No more creating new groups with the same things and purposes transferring over for everyone.

About time, i sorta think there will be more hacking problems or stuff like if the group owner gets hacked n stuff they can change the group name to something bad

Hopefully one day on Roblox, we will have the feature where you can Completely transfer a game to your group, including gamepasses, visits, and badges. Thanks!

That’s why there’s an audit log; you can also see the last names of the group after you’ve changed the name, just like a username. I think it’s very safe, especially since you have to wait a certain amount of time before changing the group name; I don’t think a bad actor would wait 90 days just to annoy you; if there was any hope, you’d already have your group back by then.
Agreed. There are so many unclaimed groups out there (that you can’t even find because the Roblox search is basically broken). Most were abandoned because there used to be a limit on how many groups you could be in without Builders Club and the owner just didn’t see a point in dragging the group along. There might still be in a cap but I’m not in enough groups to find out.

Would be nice if name changing allowed one to merely swap letter case of the current name without being blocked by a ‘Name already in use’.

Try searching for similar names to your group through the Roblox search and see if any names are untaken maybe?
That’s not the issue he is talking about. He was talking about changing the letter cases in group name without being met with “Name already in use” error.
Like, for example changing it from “ExPerimental Group Name” to “Experimental Group Name”.
