Help with Blender please

This is my first topic, so I don’t know if this is the right category.

  • What am I trying to achieve? Making armatures in blender import as bones in roblox studio

  • What is the issue? The bones don’t show up

  • What solutions have I tried so far? Using the information that the Roblox documentation has for importing rigged meshes.

I have this issue where whenever I try to save and export the mesh to import it in roblox, instead of giving bones that replace the armatures, its been giving nothing. I am exporting it from Blender as an FBX, the proper type, and the explorer in blender looks like this:

There are the rest of the armatures under the first one.

This is the result that I get when I import it to studio:

I get these values instead, I have tried everything I have found in order to try and prevent this, with no success🙁.

I am new to blender, having gotten it a day or two ago. If needed, I will give additional information on request.

Thanks for any help, and please stay on topic.
edit: A new problem has occurred after I fixed the first one in where the bones with their parent as the main bone, don’t show up, but the main bone does.

May I see the mesh in the explorer? Like all of the mesh parts in there. I think they keep the bones in the mesh parts not a folder.

Okay, here is everything that is part of the cube in the explorer.

Maybe try watching another video on how to import meshes with bones because I’m 99% sure bones will upload inside of the mesh part which looks like it hasn’t.

I’ve tried finding as many videos as I can, and I tried the exact settings that they did, and importing it but it is always giving me the same result. Also would it be helpful if I showed you a picture of the cube in blender?

Maybe watch a video on how to add bones to meshes in blender maybe you missed something.

Sure, I’m not really good at bones and stuff but I can take a look.

Sorry for late reply, here is what it looks like currently. It is for a softbody I’m trying to make.

Maybe try to re do it maybe you did something wrong.

Okay, I guess I will redo it again. I redid it once, and it didn’t help but that was also the same day I got blender so maybe I will do better this time

Okay, tried redoing, didn’t work. It might be some settings with the importer on roblox? or maybe something to do with blender.

Oh I’m not sure then. If you wan you could give me the blender file and I can try. I can’t promise that I’ll figure it out but I’ll try my best.

Sure, I will give you the file of my 2nd to last current attempt I have made.
RiggedCube.fbx (54.5 KB)
You can just import it

Ok thanks. I’ll try it a bit later because I’m at school right now.

Hi, I’ve had a bit of a play around but I couldn’t figure it out. Sorry, I hope you find a solution though!

Quick add: You could try manually adding in the bones yourself? I’m not really sure how or if this would work so probably a bad idea.

Well, thanks for trying. I will keep on doing different things and testing them to see if they work. Have a good day or night or whatever it is.

You’re welcome! Let me know if you figure it out. It would’ve been 4am for me when you sent me that lol and you also have a good day/night.

So, I tried doing some other stuff like following some tutorials on how to use the armatures, making sure that I perfectly follow the steps, without getting the same results. So it might be either a bug or something in Blender, or in the Importer in studio. I will have to research some more but it is getting difficult as I can’t find literally any people with the same problem as me. So for now I will just leave this topic open in case anyone else finds a solution or answer to this.

I thought that was how it’s supposed to look? I have a character rigged and it shows exactly that (unless im missing something). My character seems to animate fine. Maybe I also did something wrong. I made my character earlier this year.

Are there bones on your character? Because mine don’t have bones. I don’t know why my decides to completely get rid of the bones.

Hey, just so you know, I think I’m getting closer. I started messing around in blender with stuff and the problem was that the bones were not modifying the meshes at all, and then I did something, tried it out, and now the bones work out. So I think after I finish up the soft body model that I have I can actually have the bones load and appear.
