hey man! I just saw your animations (well I did a few months ago), but today I decided to test it with other rigs. The arms were actually rotated on the correct axis on the v1 animations, as if you can see in the picture attached below, the other hand is not holding it correctly. So if you want you could upload the v1 animations as a separate model.
Anyways, great model!

it appears there’s no “universal” way for animations of r15. The reason being is because the new roblox skinned r15 meshes, tried a default one for this anim from this blocky r15 avatar, it looks pretty janky. and that’s because the blocky arms and body are much wider than that of the skinned mesh avatar
