When you say icons, do you mean the game page icon, or the logo?

The logo is good in my opinion. I would work on a new Thumbnail and game icon.

Fixed a LOT of bugs. Oof.

Haha, most of these bugs were from transferring from merging the scripting and building servers together. They should be resolved.

A lot of parts weren’t anchored - this should be fixed as well.

Here are some bugs I found:

  • When equipping weapons/tools, this can happen (not sure how to repro):

  • When typing in chat, you are able to drop your weapon, probably want to check for GameProccessed
  • You take fall damage even while jumping in water (not sure if this is intended)
  • You can kind of get flung when you are on a ship that is turning
  • System message tagged for some reason:

I think that the sword animations should be improved as well as fall damage, but other than that I think the game has potential : ) Reminds me of 2016s with Arcane Adventures

These bugs should now be resolved in new servers.

I have also fixed a build gui bug that didn’t let you drive your ship.

You should make the skeletons in the tutorial have an animation when they touch you and also the skeletons get too close and attached to the player so you might have to make them move a bit back.
You should make skeletons have health bar on top as well.

I can see there’s been a lot of work done to prepare this game for the beta. I’ll give my opinions on some of the new features.

Game map

The style of the map is congruent for the most part, which I like. My only general design recommendation is to make sure all the props have context by leaving none of them untextured, since I see a few boards and palm trees throughout the game that currently don’t have a texture.


As a quick side note, these corner dock pieces appear to be uncollidable.

Skeletons

It was a good idea to add these as monsters into the game, though I have a few suggestions to improve them:

  • The animations feel a bit stiff, especially the walking animation. I’d work on increasing the limbs’ range of motion while they’re being animated.
  • I think it would better suit a skeleton to fall apart into a pile of bones on death rather than simply fading away.

Bounty Hunting

Seems like a solid system.

I’m curious what this prompt means, though. Is this a place where merchants can choose to pursue specific pirates and get a chance at a kill reward? If so, I think it might be better to award bounties automatically instead of having to agree to hunt them beforehand.

Kraken

A lot of detail went into this one. My only critique is that the animations could use some different easing styles to make them feel less robotic.

NPC Trading

Looks good. Maybe allow the player to look inside NPCs’ inventories to see possible items to buy and sell.

Potions

No specific comments on this one. From the image, it looks like it fits in with the game fairly well.

Code + Bug Report System

Making a bug reports section will significantly streamline the process of finding and fixing issues, so implementing it was a good call.

Item Shop

Looks promising.

Boat Building/Resource Collecting

The boat building menu is one of the best-functioning new features. I particularly enjoy the aesthetic of the grid and object placing.

All I can suggest for this is to add a more straightforward way of leaving build mode (clicking the build button again seemed a bit off) and possibly an indicator of whether or not the boat has a chance of floating since my boat sank right away.

Resource collection works alright, although it’s a bit strange that I can chop down a tree with bare hands.

Data Saving

Always good.

Haha, this sounds like a bug. I’ll fix it.

Merchants will be able to go to the jail/town hall, and accept bounties to hunt from there.

Finally a pirate mmorpg on Roblox

Looks incredible. Did you create this all by yourself, or with a team? When will the game be released?

I created this mostly by myself. Towards the end I commissioned @Diviniite to design the map with pre-made assets.

To be fair, I did stick a rather large mast onto a little raft, but it still may be a bug if all boats in the game are intended to float.

This genre hasn’t been done as often as some others, but there are a few games that already exist. Tradelands is an example of one that’s occasionally seen some popularity over the years.

This bug was found by @Zuperpro12, it should be fixed now, thank you very much.

I haven’t actually played Tradelands much at all, but it is a neat game. It is my main competition - I hope to fill a slightly different part of the market (I don’t want to drive Tradelands out).

Player ragdolling has been fixed. It was not working before.

I have also fixed the boat steering/handling, to make it more exciting.

Animations are actively being worked on.
