How can I create a Star Wars game without IP issues?

Hello everyone,

After reading some posts on this issue, I’ve become hesitant about moving forward with my idea. I’d like to know what changes I can make to protect my game, such as changing character names or concepts. Would designing characters that aren’t exact 1:1 copies of Star Wars characters be enough to avoid legal issues?

Additionally, I’ve noticed many Star Wars games on Roblox that use the name but haven’t been taken down. Is that because those games aren’t widely recognized, or is there another reason?

You can’t. If Disney finds out these games on Roblox, then all these go down.

I do recommend you do a parody though. As you have noticed all these battle grounds games are based off animes, but aren’t being taken down. It’s because they are parodies. They don’t say that they are from that anime. They get very close without touching.

Yeah, I’m trying to figure out where the line is between infringement and inspiration. It seems like a lot of anime studios are more lenient about it. But I’m not sure Disney would be as forgiving if I had a character whose name was Luke Airwalker in my game…

How about just don’t? As you can tell from battlegrounds games they just have a simple name. Like luke could be the chosen one.

It was just an example. As for character designs, what are the rules with that?

I don’t really know, just look at some battlegrounds games and see how close they go.

Personally I’d make a parody of these types of games, or create something original.
