How can i deform Meshes without Bones

I wanna make something really cool, but for that i need to deform a object (not a human or so), so is there a other way to deform meshes like you could do it usually with bones but not using bones ?

For example grabbing a attachment and this attachment deforms the mesh, so kinda how it works in a 3D program like Blender etc.
