Hi, me and my friend recently released our game and have been trying to get noticed. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be working and despite being told by people things such as “waiting until this is popular” and other things that suggest the game has the potential to be popular, everything seems to be failing. We have tried:
Contacting youtubers (ignored)
Making a trailer on Youtube, making a YT shorts and a TikTok about it (nothing)
Posting on reddit (failed, people only played to give their thoughts but admittedly I did ask for feedback)
Sponsoring (lowest CTR i’ve ever seen)
Ads (low CTR, attracted people that disliked the game instantly)
Contacting bigger developers (ignored)
We are at a loss, anyone know where to go from here? We are confident this game has potential and want to see it succeed.
Cause you haven’t done enough.
Retest it, and once you have a good statistic, sponsor at least a few dozens of thousands of Robux.
It works, for me, for my studio and for a lot of other developers.
discord, google ads, rickroll video with link, #help-and-feedback:creations-feedback , roblox ads
to get you get new players,
try ingame things to make tose keep coming back, care more than only money
Alright so I was basically in the same boat as you, although my game is not finished it is playable.
But anyways, I recently just starting going on roblox games and asking people to test the game for me, and they test and they really think its really fun, and one of them gave me the idea to create a discord server which might have been the smartest decision yet, now Im currrently sitting at 5 members and now I have a place where people who share a likeness towards my game can hangout and play together whenever they want and im starting to grow a little community for my game, I hope this helped
Have you previously promoted your game? I mean, did you promote your game even before your game was released to the public? I think it’s important to build a community for your game before your game is released. That will make it easier for you to find players.
For the problem of rejection from youtubers, tiktoker, and bigger developers, maybe the way you present the game to them is not perfect. at least, when you want to collaborate with someone (for example asking a youtuber to play your game) you must first explain a few things below:
Game Title
Present to them your game title as attractive as possible
Player targets
Present to them who will be your target market. For example, people aged 13 to 25 years.
Objective
Present what is the objective of the players so that players can level up or continue their adventure to a more difficult level.
Unique Selling
Present to them what is the main attraction of your game and what makes it different from the existing games on Roblox.
Game Mechanics
Present to them on the platform where the player can play your game, for example on the Computer, explain in detail about how the player can move, open the bag, run, jump, and so on. for example WASD for player walking and Space for player jumping.
Gameplay
Present to them the storyline and every character in your game. also separate which characters are friendly and characters that are evil.
Rewards For The Player
Explain what players will get after leveling up, or completing missions, or if it’s just killing monsters. include details such as how much the player will get.
Development Time Plan
Present to them the details of the processing time of the game you are making. For example, January to February designing the design, February to July the game creation process (explain in more detail), and so on.
Budgeting
Present them the details of the funds used in making the game.
for example :
Expenditure :
Salary for 3 Builders : $67 USD
Salary for 2 Scripters : $80 USD
Salary for 2 Animators : $56 USD
Salary for 3 Modelers : $60 USD
Salary for 1 Game Designer : $100 USD
Salary for 2 UI/UX Designers : $74 USD
Salary for 1 Translator : $30 USD
Salary for 5 brand ambassadors : $200 USD
Advertising costs per month on Roblox : $150 USD
Advertising costs per month on Social Media : $100 USD
Income:
From donors: $430 USD
From Sponsor A : $120 USD
From Sponsor B : $50 USD
Participating people
Present to them about the people who participated in the creation of your game. for example your staff or all your developers.
Reference
Present to them all the game references that you use in your game, the more references you use in the presentation will increase your chances of working with big developers or youtubers.
Hopefully my explanation can be understood and useful for you
If your game is good enough for big youtubers like Flamingo to make videos about it, you could contact smaller youtubers who might be interested. These small youtubers can get you a few players. Maybe even make a slightly bigger youtuber notice the game and so on. Soon bigger youtubers might notice the game but you have to make sure it’s fun to play.
Upload 3-4 YouTube shorts and TikToks everyday and hope one of them blows up and gets a few thousand views. If it’s a good game and has a decent playtime Roblox’s algorithm will pick it up and promote it to other players on discovery (Recommend For You, Friend Activity, etc). I know this might take some time but it’s worth a try (and is free, unlike ads).
You should save up a lot of robux and use it in ads and sponsored games. Make the ad attracting and good that others would want to click it. Also focus on making the game better so that people will like the game and you will receive more people and premium payouts.
Your game is super cute. I really liked how small you scaled the player in comparison to everything in the game world. The style of it is beautiful.
Considering how much effort you have obviously put in to this game it deserves recognition. Advertising doesn’t need large budgets, but does require eye catching ads for your target audience. Care yo show them so why can review them?
I’ve heard you can get a reasonable player base with around 10k robux just by placing regular ads over the space of a week or two. What was your advertising stratergy?
the ads and sponsors we ran were low budget to test the ctr and they were abysmal. we didnt run a more expensive ad yet (only around 500 robux) because the test didnt perform well and we dont have much budget to throw around (5k robux + enough usd to buy another 8k). heres the ad we ran
I find that a good game picture can really make or break your game. For example; I have a game that recently hit 20k visits from nothing. All it has is a more professional game picture then the rest of the competition. No adverts, no contacting anyone, and no posting it anywhere. Just a professional game picture.
Is it a simulator?
Yes: Will get noticed by lots of… lil kids
No: Is it based on some new series like squid game?
Yes: It will get noticed by lots of… lil kids
No: Goodluck and thank you for working with roblox!
cough i personally plan on making quite a few small games after ive done enough on my larger project. This may make the few players I get want to check out my other games if they like it, especially if i advertise them in my own game
Overall this could help increase player count till its on some page or makes enough to fund reasonable adds
thats not really how it works… people still have to see it somehow. its not like people see every game released, thats why people run ads. no matter how good an icon is, nobody will see it without marketing. roblox has no “good icon detection system”. my guess is you hit the search jackpot and were on the top 1 or 2 rows of a popular search.
