Hello! I was wondering how to keep players coming back to my game. Some will join but I never see them again. What should I be doing for them? And I get stuff like achievements, but how long should they take to achieve? Is there anything else I might be missing?
You should ask yourself these 4 questions.
-
What kind of game did I create?
-
Did I add badges for players to earn by playing my game?
-
Do I keep my game up to date?
-
Is it fun for all to play?
Hopefully answering those 4 questions should give you all the answers you need.
Any other tips for it by chance?
Well again what kind of game did you create? Maybe linking it in the main question of your post may help people answer your questions a bit better.
Gumdrop simulator, a game where you are a gumdrop. That’s all I got for now. Candy land I suppose.
Just be aware most simulator games have a very short lifetime. Usually somebody will join, spend a bit of time grinding, then leave and never return. On the other hand however, most other games are the same. This does not include certain front page games. They are made with consistent updates. New game mechanics, and new features and quests/locations/minigames/ect for players to explore. That is why they return.
It’s actually kinda mocking a “Simulator”. Instead of being a game like bubble gum simulator, which should be bubble gum blowing simulator. In this case it’s where you are a gumdrop. But the name is just Gumdrop. But yes I get it.
In my opinion, Adding badged does not change anything with game traffic, but I do agree with the rest of what you mentioned.
Thank you all for your help! Good day!
This has been answered in previous topics that leave information related to your question.
I would say add elements that’s worth continuing playing, it needs to have that enjoyable gameplay while adding small options could add a boost to keep players in your game or wanting then to return back. (E.g. add things like quest, daily rewards, challenges,) things to keep players entertained, find ways to make those players worth coming back to continue playing your game.
Play around with different ideas you could even take a look at known games and see how you could implement those ideas within your game.
Quick question, I don’t think badges are that use full anymore, except. Welcome to the game badge(It shows how many unique players has played). But about the badges, like personally when i used to play roblox for fun, i really didn’t care about badges and no other player did when i played. It wasn’t like “Yes finally i earned this badge”, no one even noticed (Could fix this by adding an vfx or somthing that shows you earned a badge, like some party music, while showing the badge icon, like an egg opening.
